The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a variety of analog and digital design flows including Cadence design tools, Innovus, scripting languages (PERL, Python, TCL, etc), and Linux/unix.
This role is 100% onsite in Linthicum or Annapolis Junction, MD.
**Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):**

Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

Salary Range: $100,000-$140,000/year (based on experience). This is a full-time, on-site role that can be based out of Lodi, CA, Oroville, CA or Woodland, CA.
The base salary range reflects the reasonable expectation for what the company anticipates paying for this role at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on factors including, but not limited to:

Renewable energy continues to expand and we want you to be a part of it! Nor-Cal Controls provides controls solutions for utility-scale renewable energy power plants and we are looking for an Automation Engineer I to join our talented team! As an Automation Engineer I, you will take ownership of assigned projects, with specific focus on design and development. You will also be responsible for handling SCADA project-related tasks of intermediate scope and complexity. This role is open to in-office, hybrid work, or remote options with a salary range of $95,000 - $105,000 annually*.

What will a successful Automation Engineer accomplish in the first year?
Provide excellent customer service, including same day response to customer emails or calls.
Commission solar PV SCADA projects.
Consistently meet Nor-Cal's Core Values.
Preferred experience:
Engineering B.S. degree (Automation, Controls, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar), or equivalent experience.
1- 3 years of experience designing and developing SCADA systems for utility-scale solar PV projects.
Professional knowledge of SCADA, process instrumentation, PLC programming, and control systems.
Possesses a positive “can do” attitude and a strong motivation to learn and excel.
