Communicates and coordinates with staff at work site and with other shop staff. Works with and installs HVAC systems; diagnoses repairs, modifies and performs repairs using blueprints and considering building codes (e.g., UBC) and standards; fabricates, repairs, and installs HVAC system (inside) ductwork, fittings, registers, venting, pipe fittings. Prepares and cleans up job site (e.g., erecting scaffolding), taking into consideration safety concerns of self and others (e.g., students, employees), and disposes of waste and flammable materials. Performs work and cross trains in at least one other trade as an apprentice. Assists with snow removal efforts on a 24 hour on-call basis. Responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Under direction of L3 (Master or Multi-Skilled), may assist or perform the following functions: Train and mentor staff; bid on work requested by schools, and prepares quote; inspect work of independent contractors, identifies deficiencies; and communicate with project manager about correcting deficiencies according to code (e.g., city, state) and district specifications. Electromechanical Technician Position Overview: The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex automated systems and machinery located in the packaging and warehouse areas of the factory.
