GENERAL PURPOSE:

To troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the accuracy, reliability and system control's data credibility of PLC and PC based automation systems. QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Functional familiarity with HVAC principles for Building Management Systems (BMS).
Knowledgeable in the assembly of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, robotic operation and vision systems and the ability to assemble new equipment; and modify existing manufacturing equipment.
Connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security and communications.
Understanding of 3 phase distribution and 3 phase power transmission system.
Firm grasp on testing 3 phase related equipment 480v and below.
Energy management (BMS) software and hardware familiarity.

Receives market improvement slips and/or a list of structures with illumination problems from the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager in the morning.
Prioritizes work assignments geographically to maximize the number of structures that can be repaired within any given workday.
Troubleshoots each AOA structure on location to determine what actions need to be taken to illuminate the structure properly taking appropriate steps to repair the problem. After performing the necessary repairs, checks lights to confirm proper operation.

EHS Technician

ABOUT THE JOB In this role, you will assist in ensuring the facility's compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and Fiberon EHS standards. The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to established operational procedures and standard work to assist facility managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.

Projects: Candidate will assist with various projects relating to EHS needs in the plant with oversight and direction from the Safety Manager.
Identify, assess, and monitor workplace hazards that could be present in the work area; remediate hazards, and/or recommend improvements to minimize hazard potential with oversight by the Safety Manager. Perform daily site walks to help identify and mitigate hazards on the production, maintenance and warehouse spaces.
Investigation: Assist or lead in incident investigations for accidents, incidents, injuries and complaints concerning potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the work place. Assemble and lead learning teams both proactively and reactively to drive improvements.
Training, Education, & Awareness: Conduct monthly and annual trainings for associates related to EHS compliance with oversight and direction by the Safety Manager. Conduct EHS orientations to visitors, new hires and contractors. Facilitate key trainings and refreshers for LOTO, Powered Industrial Trucks, Confined Space, Hazardous Communication, etc.
Safety Program Involvement: Support and drive associate participation in safety programs and initiatives, driving participation, supplying data, coaching and support. Participate in additional projects as time permits. Attend EHS committee meetings and drive engagement.
EHS Program Development: Work actively toward continuous improvement of the EHS programs including refining or developing standard work for all routine tasks, inspections, reports, as well as refining training programs and procedures to ensure program consistency with oversight by Safety Manager.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Safety or closely-related field preferred
One-two years' experience in a manufacturing environment driving EHS efforts
Basic understanding of all local regulatory agency requirements including OSHA, NCDENR, EPA, NFPA, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
One-two years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
OSHA 30 HR or 40 HR Hazwoper
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong time management skills
Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software
Experience in managing hazardous and universal waste areas
Basic understanding of permitting requirements (storm water, air, waste water)

Looking for testing or installing fiber optic products. Candidates might have experience in data centers or in the field installing cables (splicing for example). Sometimes they must test and assure they have continuity.
Top skills required:
- Computer skills for data processing and data analysis.
- Familiarity with basic measurement tools (gauges, scales, micrometers)
- Able to physically pull/maneuver optical fiber cables and be exposed to temperature changes during test execution.
- Candidates with fusion splicing skills as well as optical fiber cable installation are highly desirable.

- Candidates must be willing to perform heavy duty activities and hands-on work (demands physical activity lifting weights, pulling items, moving items between locations); also, perform testing under extreme temperature conditions (104F and -22F). Candidates must have some experience in a metrology laboratory environment or material testing environment, being exposed to testing products (optical fiber cables and/or optical fiber connectors, material dimensional testing, among others).
1. Day to Day Responsibilities
• Assist in performing set up and performance verification of fiber optic testing products
• Configure product samples (cables and connectors) for environmental and mechanical testing
• Perform optical measurements using manual or automated test systems
• Program and operate environmental chambers and mechanical test equipment
• Setup/perform and track/report progress of testing as directed
• Document test results from optical fiber component testing as per documented procedures
• Conduct basic data analysis
• Draft test reports in the proper format and filed accordingly
• Assist in conducting failure mode analysis
• Perform basic troubleshooting/problem solving
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
