Position Summary
The Technical Accounting Manager will work under the direction of the Vice President and Global Corporate Controller to drive Adtran's technical accounting function. This role will be responsible for assisting with the timely identification, evaluation, and resolution of complex accounting matters arising from Adtran's ongoing business operations as well as significant strategic transactions and acquisitions. Key areas of focus include consolidation analyses supporting Adtran's legal entity structure, currency translations, derivative and hedging transactions, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and impairment analyses, among others.
The Technical Accounting Manager will collaborate extensively across Adtran functions and teams-including Global Corporate Accounting, Legal and Entity Compliance, Tax, Human Resources, Internal Audit, and External Auditors. The role will also provide direct support to the SEC reporting team on financial statement disclosure requirements, business functions on new investment structures and transactions, and the Corporate Accounting team to ensure complete and accurate recording of transactions to the general ledger.
Primary Responsibilities
* Conduct technical accounting research, prepare accounting analyses, and collaborate with external auditors in addressing technical accounting matters that arise during Adtran's business operations and strategic transactions.
* Serve as a GAAP accounting liaison across Adtran, including but not limited to: Global Corporate Accounting, Tax, Legal and Entity Compliance, Human Capital Management, Treasury, and Internal Audit.
* Prepare revenue recognition analyses in accordance with ASC 606 for new fee arrangements, including reviewing contractual terms, identifying performance obligations, and evaluating timing of revenue recognition.
* Review SEC and BaFin quarterly and annual filings for compliance with US GAAP and IFRS including completion of the disclosure checklist.
* Support the quarterly and annual impairment analyses for goodwill and other intangibles in accordance with ASC 350 and long-lived assets as needed in accordance with ASC 360.
* Support other technical accounting areas as needed, including: fair value, stock-based compensation, derivative and hedging transactions, other employee compensation, acquisition accounting (including goodwill and intangible assets), non-controlling interests, earnings per share, and non-GAAP / segment reporting.
* Monitor, assess, and coordinate the adoption of new accounting and SEC pronouncements as well as industry trends in accounting and financial reporting, including the implementation of relevant internal controls.
* Draft and maintain Adtran's formal accounting policies, as well as performing refreshed risk assessments, communicating new and revised policy documents, and supporting training.
* Draft transaction-specific accounting position memos and support communication to relevant functions.
* Support internal control compliance (SOX 404) within the accounting policy function.
* Support quarterly SEC filings to confirm proper reporting and disclosure of key accounting transactions.

Perform journeyman level duties in the installation, repair and maintenance of low voltage (≤ 120 volts) electrical equipment, systems and components. I&C Technicians may perform Electrical LO/TO zero energy verifications on 480-volt electrical equipment, after completion of NFPA 70 Qualified Person Training.
Replace worn, damaged or failed components and fixtures in support of facility operations.
Conduct post-maintenance testing of systems, equipment and components as necessary to complete work packages and ensures systems, equipment and components are returned to operational conditions.
Be able to complete training and certification of the SDC Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS).

Under the direction of the area leader (supervisor) or manager, the process controltechnician will be responsible for processing, setup and troubleshooting of the machines and equipment in their assigned work area. They are responsible for ensuring adherence to safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies, procedures and standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for troubleshooting, setup, loading, transferring, operating and adjusting processes, and the associated production equipment.
* Perform routine and preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
* Apply hands-on skills in repairing certain mechanical, electrical, electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Complete changeovers as needed; changing dies; and performing manual tool changeovers converting the fixtures to run and trial different size configurations as needed.
* Work with operations leadership to prioritize work and meet critical deadlines.
* Work with quality, engineering, maintenance, etc. to help prepare for trials, assist in operations, and handle the disposition of test or scrap materials.
* Proactively lead the troubleshooting & analyzing of assigned equipment / machines and processes. Implement actions and help document and track processes for improvement.
* Use technology including PLC's, smart boards, tv screens, kiosks on the shop floor to monitor equipment.
* Ability to rotate among jobs within the department and know all aspects of the production process.
* Maintain a clean work environment and follow all company policies and practices regarding safety and material handling.
* Utilize a forklift to maneuver parts, materials and dies in the area.

What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Requirements:
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
* One or more years of experience in machine setup, heavy machinery or machining operations preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Requires knowledge of PLC and must be capable of making minor adjustments.
* Must have attention to detail and be able to work independently.
* Ability to work with tight tolerances (+/- .0005 - .002).
* Must be capable of working around moving machines - robots, machinery, forklifts, etc.
