dormakaba is seeking a Second Shift (1:00PM-9:30PM) Controls Technician for Indianapolis, IN. The Control Technician is responsible for installing, programming, testing, calibrating, operating, and repairing the control systems, along with their related software, hardware, and equipment.
HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $34.00/hr. - $37.00/hr. plus 1.00 Shift differential and mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to control and monitoring systems and perform needed repairs
* Test and calibrate systems devices to ensure functional reliability of operating/monitoring systems
* Install, modify, and maintain system hardware such as electrical conduit, sensor wiring, power supplies, control system enclosures, etc.
* Maintain and operate workstations, including creating/updating, maintaining a point database, and maintaining infrastructure
* Program control systems using appropriate system program language for proper sequences of operations and operating schedules

The ideal candidate is experienced in open architecture DDC systems (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LON), knowledgeable in major OEM platforms (Trane, JCI, Schneider, Siemens, etc.), and capable of designing and executing small to mid-sized projects from concept to completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and implement DDC/EMS solutions for commercial HVAC systems using open-protocol controls.
Collaborate with in-house mechanical and electrical divisions to deliver fully integrated, turnkey control projects.
Program, commission, and troubleshoot building automation systems using platforms like Trane Tracer, JCI Metasys, Schneider EcoStruxure, Siemens Desigo, etc.

Develop small project designs and proposals, including equipment selection, layout, and controls architecture.
Lead jobsite installation efforts and guide technicians through control wiring and system startup.

Under general direction of the Maintenance Manager, oversees effective preventative maintenance plans and schedules for all facility equipment and material handling systems.
Ensures effective preventative maintenance plans and schedules for all facility equipment and systems.
Diagnoses Materials Handling Equipment-related error conditions occurring in the Distribution Center and repairs appropriately.
Oversees and provides assistance with any maintenance, modifications, and/or system upgrades of Materials Handling Equipment.
Assesses the efficiency of materials handling equipment and defines necessary modifications.
Manages the inventory of spare parts in a CMMS environment.

Under general supervision of the Systems Manager, responsible for supporting the effective use and functionality of the automated equipment within a fully automated Distribution Center. This role has the responsibility to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues, along with testing, replacement or repair electrical systems including single phase or three phase electrical systems up to 600volts, AC or DC motors, power supplies, frequency drives, servo drives, transformers, motor starters, proximity sensors, encoders, photo eyes, programmable logic Controllers (PLC), HMI's, PLC Inputs/Outputs.
