Under the direction of Engineering manager or senior engineers, the Engineering Technician supports develop of new processes and part numbers, sustaining existing products, and exceptional organization, documentation, and execution of relevant engineering processes. This role has an emphasis on manufacturing process design and documentation creation consistent with high tolerance, complex parts. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation, and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics. **Principle Responsibilities** + Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Tecomet Quality Management System (QMS). This role will effectively maintain the quality system. + Manage, organize, and/or support engineering change notice process to ensure control of engineering documentation. + Draft various types of engineering documentation including, but not limited to, Process Control Plans, Inspection Reports, Work Instructions, Setup Sheets. + Ensures organization of all relevant engineering documentation, both electronic and hardcopy. + Supports management of engineering records and part masters Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, as applicable + Supports engineering projects including process validations, cost improvement projects, new product introduction (NPI), and safety improvement projects. + Participates in process development process for manufacturing of products. + Trains production staff on relevant work instructions or standard work as needed. + Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management **Qualification Requirements** **Credentials/Experience:** + High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. + 2 to 4 years of experience performing document control duties in a manufacturing environment is preferred. The Automation Technician provides hands-on, technical support for new and existing automated processes. Primary functions will include working with and troubleshooting PLC's, vision systems, and other automated control systems, preventive maintenance, new equipment installations, and integrations. This position is based in a highly technical manufacturing facility and requires strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, a high degree of flexibility, good communication skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to work in a safe manner. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC, vision systems, and other automated control systems Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems, overhaul production machinery and build experimental Provides troubleshooting support for manufacturing equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot motor/drive controller issues Support internal projects Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills: Associate's degree in electrical engineering or certificate in electrical field of study or equivalent experience Proficiency with PCs and Rockwell Automation PLC programming, variable-speed drives, vision systems, servo-systems, industrial sensors and Relay Ladder Logic Panel-view, Factory Talk, or other operator interface programming Experience completing and documenting preventive and non-routine maintenance Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills Additional PREFERRED Qualifications/Skills: ISO 9001 or 13485, CFR 820 Journeyman or Master Electrician License Strong PC Skills - AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications Ability to adjust, replace and/or repair mechanical drive components, chain & sprockets, pulleys, bearings, and gearboxes Ability to troubleshoot, replace and/or repair solenoids, cylinders, and other pneumatic systems Knowledge of slitting and winding methods, equipment, and procedures 5+ years manufacturing experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment Experience operating scissor lifts and/or forklifts
