The Electrical Engineering Technician group at Ultra supports the hardware development lifecycle and production of state-of-the-art sonobuoy products for the U.S. Navy and other navies around the world. Job Description Key Responsibilities * Assist engineers in building, assembling, wiring, and testing electronic systems, modules, and prototypes for maritime defense applications. * Perform electrical testing, data collection, instrumentation setup, and troubleshooting of circuits and components. * Conduct verification, validation, and functional checks according to test plans and engineering procedures. * Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering drawings. * Document results, test setups, and system configurations using Ultra's engineering and quality systems. * Maintain equipment, organize lab workspaces, and enforce safety and configuration control practices. * Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to support project goals. * Participate in occasional travel (up to 15%) for field testing, training, and customer support. The Automation Technician provides hands-on, technical support for new and existing automated processes. Primary functions will include working with and troubleshooting PLC's, vision systems, and other automated control systems, preventive maintenance, new equipment installations, and integrations. This position is based in a highly technical manufacturing facility and requires strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, a high degree of flexibility, good communication skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to work in a safe manner.
