The Automation Technician is responsible for assessing technical problems in all areas of the facility and implementing a vetted-out solution in a timely fashion. The Engineering Technician on the mechanical prototyping team will partner with mechanical prototype engineers to fabricate, assemble, test, and deploy one-off prototypes, tools, fixtures, and jigs. About the role As an I&C Technician, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, equipment, and control systems. What you'll do I&C Assembly & Fabrication Build, assemble and test high-quality PLC components and wire harnesses Follow electrical/I&C drawings and industry standards to ensure precise construction Use standard tools and electronics equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies) for builds and testing. Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, equipment, and control systems, ensuring optimal functionality within the facility. Skills Required: Advanced understanding of electronics manufacturing and troubleshooting. Knowledgeable about IPC 610 Standard and/or J-STD-001. Proficiency in interpreting technical documents and specifications. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective oral and written English communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently. Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior technicians or interns.
