The Controls Technologist (CT) II is a technical expert who supports specific project delivery or technology development efforts. Job Description
As a Technical Demo Engineer on the Pre-Sales team at SmartRecruiters, you will be responsible for supporting the Pre-Sales team in various ways by building and designing solutions with partners and clients through the design, development, testing, and deployment of various types of integrations and solutions needed by Pre-Sales both internally and in the field.
What you'll deliver
Complete SmartRecruiters technical certifications and fully ramp on technology, API's and implementation methodologies; start to develop and contribute subject matter expertise and project deliverables to internal knowledge exchange
Work with Pre-Sales to showcase platform capabilities that require technical build beyond the scope of configuration
Participate in sales activities by assisting with the creation of prototypes, integrations, and solutions
Create integrations for demonstration purposes, utilizing SmartConnect or our APIs
Create reports and data visualizations that require builds and integrations via the API or third-party platforms
Deliver new ways to improve how we merchandise the platform, specifically around integrations with various other products and with partners
Extend the platform to build new solutions
Be the technical conduit between Partners, Product, and Infrastructure
Responsible for overall demo environments as it relates to design and performance
Keep current with trends on how we and other organizations leverage technology
Develop a POV on best practices
Practical SmartRecruiters platform hands-on
Platform Certifications (SmartRecruiters Required)
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience on integration teams and architecting solutions
Ability to translate technical requirements to business value
Demonstrated experiences and mastery skills in at least three of the following:
SmartRecruiters or other Talent Acquisition solutions
Integrations (SOAP, REST, Jitterbit, Web Services, etc.)
Java, PHP, or Python; and JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Security and security standards
Proficiency in relational databases and reporting tools
iPaaS, SaaS, TA Software
Demonstrated expertise in architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions meeting complex business requirements
Ability to effectively architect solutions within a diverse technical team of clients, SIs, contractors, and internal teams
Experience with Proof of Value workshops or implementations

The Engineering Tech independently oversees/leads the safety, productivity, quality and assist crew personnel performance of IMCORP's proprietary Factory Grade advanced diagnostics for underground medium- and high-voltage power cables at IMCORP customer sites. The Engineering Tech ensures that IMCORP's unique instrumentation/equipment/diagnostic methodology are properly used, supervises work crews and judges whether diagnostic data gathered have integrity and meet technical standards or if additional remote communication and technical support is required.
A critical responsibility of the Engineering Tech is to guarantee the safety of all customers, contractors, partners, employees and community members in diverse, challenging and unpredictable field settings. As the sole field representative of IMCORP for a given customer project , the Engineering Tech determines and leads implementation of required field approaches to meet customer needs, initiating and integrating support from other company technical and administrative staff.
This role is remote and may work from any location in the continental United States. This role includes up to 70% travel. Pay includes supplemental pay and a lucrative bonus program.
Responsibilities
Prepare for field assignments using IMCORP pre-project and project plan information
Formulate project plans on daily basis with customer field supervisors to achieve project objectives
Provide on-site customer training on safety, test equipment and test procedures/process to ensure optimal cable system diagnostics
Scan test environment for factors that can affect cable performance and diagnostics results
Direct power distribution customers and contractors on-site, including preparatory or corrective action required for proper execution of tests
Determine and implement field approaches to meet customer needs and solve customer problems, initiating and integrating support from other company technical and administrative staff as needed
Maintain positive customer relationships with multiple customer representatives from varied levels and departments
Oversee the performance of IMCORP's proprietary Factory Grade advanced diagnostics for underground medium- and high-voltage power cables at IMCORP customer sites in the U.S. utility market
Troubleshoot and repair IMCORP equipment including analog and digital circuitry, high frequency and fiber optic interfaces and computer sub-systems
Operate advanced diagnostics equipment, including next-generation models during controlled field tests
Acquire on-site test data
Apply partial discharge principles to field assessment
Assess and determine whether on-site test data provides sufficient information for meaningful data analysis including all required field signal data analysis
Meet comprehensive field performance standards with fully qualified audit results
Perform cable matching procedures as required
Observe and record significant technical/administrative data supplementary to diagnostics on daily basis
Troubleshoot electromechanical equipment and systems, formulating and implementing appropriate solutions
Escalate critical technical and administrative questions and problems as needed to remote support team on timely basis
Comply with applicable company technical, administrative and safety procedures, including meeting deadlines, at all times
Identify on timely basis problems or omissions with applicable company technical, administrative and safety procedures
Meet all certification and safety/compliance requirements on timely basis
Regularly participate in and contributes to all required meetings, training sessions and scheduled activities, through in-person or remote attendance
Lead assist crew in performing cable reliability management actions, such as mitigation and splicing
Move the Mobile Diagnostic Unit as needed to and from customer testing regions
Maintain adequate supplies and inventory on Mobile Diagnostic Unit
Maintain and coordinate maintenance as needed for Mobile Diagnostic Unit
When assigned, provide shadow training to other field associates
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent a plus

About the Role
As a Distinguished Engineer / Technical Fellow, you will be the primary architect of Armada's long-term technical vision. This is a "builder-leader" role for a world-class technologist who possesses a deep, fundamental understanding of data center architecture, high-density compute, and massive-scale AI infrastructure. You will solve the most difficult technical hurdles across our core product suite while leading the R&D for "Next Horizon" projects, such as Data Centers in Space. Beyond internal development, you will act as a key technical diplomat, collaborating with our most strategic industry partners to design deep-tech solutions that deepen Armada's product adoption and expand our reach into entirely new frontiers.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Architecting the Universal Edge: Lead the evolution of the Armada Edge Platform (AEP), ensuring seamless orchestration of compute and AI workloads across globally distributed, high-latency, and disconnected environments.
Next Horizon Projects: Drive the architectural roadmap for visionary initiatives, including Data Centers in Space. This involves adapting the Armada stack for orbital compute modules and solving for the unique challenges of Low Earth Orbit (LEO)-including radiation-tolerant software, thermal management, and power-constrained AI processing.
Strategic Partner Engineering: Work directly with elite industry partners to co-design solutions that integrate Armada's technology deeper into their global ecosystems. You will ensure our platform becomes the standard infrastructure for compute, whether terrestrial or orbital.
Technical Strategy: Partner with Company Leadership to define the 3-5 year technical roadmap, identifying emerging technologies in high-density GPU orchestration and orbital data processing that align with our long-term business goals.
Hard-Problem Solver: Act as the final point of escalation for complex architectural challenges involving real-time data streaming, computer vision, and network-aware workload distribution.
Innovation & R&D: Lead Proof-of-Concepts for next-generation capabilities, such as in-orbit inference, adaptive learning at the edge, and secure Earth-to-space data orchestration.
Mentorship: Elevate the entire engineering organization by mentoring Staff and Principal engineers, fostering a culture of high-performance engineering and architectural rigor.
Required Qualifications:
Core Infrastructure Mastery: Deep understanding of Data Center operations, Compute architectures (CPU/GPU/NPU), and AI Infrastructure at scale. You should understand the full stack from silicon to the orchestration layer.
Experience: 15+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record as a Distinguished Engineer, Fellow, or equivalent senior technical leader at a major infrastructure or AI company.
Distributed Systems Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of distributed systems and data storage in resource-constrained, remote, or "denied" environments.
Systems Programming: Mastery of Go, C++, or Rust, with a deep understanding of how software interacts with physical compute hardware and non-terrestrial networking layers.
Ecosystem Influence: Proven ability to work across company lines with partners to build "1+1=3" technical solutions that drive adoption and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep understanding of networking stacks, specifically optimization for satellite and terrestrial mesh networks.
