BASIC FUNCTION: Provides highly technical electrical, electronic, and control system maintenance support to ensure the safe, reliable, and GMP compliant operation of Carolina Foods automated manufacturing facilities.
Pay Range: $32-37/hour
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of the following equipment and systems:
PLC, computer-controlled, and servo-controlled equipment.
Electrical controls including motor starters, relays, control wiring, variable frequency drives, sensors, and both AC and DC motors.
Mechanical systems and components including conveyors, pumps, valves, pneumatics, bearings, seals, and power transmission system components such as gearboxes, belt and chain drives.
The use of shop machinery including normal industrial tools and oscilloscopes for repair purposes.
Support the Preventive Maintenance program by performing PM activities and assisting in continuous program improvement.
Provide written and oral communication to manufacturing team leaders and management.
Support Engineering projects for both new equipment installations and improvements to existing installations.
Safely perform work, including adherence to policies such as lock-out / tag-out, and confined space entry.
Facilitate coordination of OEM services and parts with Maintenance Planning and Parts departments.
DUTIES:
Serve as a mentor to other maintenance technicians as a primary resource for solving complex technical equipment issues.
Troubleshoot equipment with an emphasis on electrical, automation, and controls.
Read and interpret schematics, manuals, blueprints, and other technical documents.
Communicate with all levels of Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering.
Execute Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work orders.
Understand and apply mathematics as related to machine cycle rates, conveyor speeds, or when troubleshooting equipment timing issues.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Required
5+ years demonstrated experience performing maintenance and repairs of automated manufacturing equipment, with an emphasis on electrical and control systems.
Preferred
10+ years demonstrated experience performing maintenance and repairs of automated equipment, with an emphasis on electrical and control systems.
Ability to configure and program PLC systems.
2-year degree in electrical, electronics, or electromechanical fields.
Electrical License and willingness to maintain license while employed by Carolina Foods.
Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE:
Receives market improvement slips and/or a list of structures with illumination problems from the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager in the morning.
Prioritizes work assignments geographically to maximize the number of structures that can be repaired within any given workday.
Troubleshoots each AOA structure on location to determine what actions need to be taken to illuminate the structure properly taking appropriate steps to repair the problem. After performing the necessary repairs, checks lights to confirm proper operation.
Orders the necessary supplies either from local supply houses or distribution facilities where accounts are set up being mindful to secure the best pricing available. Gets authorization from Operations Manager before any major purchases.
Manages and oversees the process of securing necessary permits for work performed on new structures as well as upgrades to existing structures. Further, it is the responsibility of the licensed Electrician to contact and secure any locally required inspections on new service installs. This includes ensuring that the local power company has been contacted after passing local inspection to verify the installation of power to the structure.

Works closely with the Reliability, Operations, Continuous Improvement and Quality teams to ensure world-class levels of OEE.
PAY RANGE: Up to $95k
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Technical ownership of Processing equipment and systems including bulk delivery systems, dough handling and forming, fryers, and other equipment related to the manufacture of honey buns, donuts, and pies.A. Process and equipment optimization to achieve required system performance in throughput, up-time, and quality for each process line and facility system.B. Daily Shop Floor technical support of Maintenance and Operations teams, including troubleshooting assistance with electrical controls and mechanical systems.Daily collaboration with Operations and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams.Full-cycle management of capital projects for both new equipment installations and improvements to existing installations.Demonstration of safety as a condition philosophy throughout the organization Provide engineering support of new product innovation opportunities.Work with Operations, Maintenance, and CI teams to develop and drive a Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) culture including the pillars of planned maintenance and autonomous maintenance.Serve as a mentor to operators and maintenance technicians to drive shop-floor equipment and process ownership.Implement data-driven processes to track and manage assigned KPIs and contribute to the daily / weekly team KPI and execution cadence.Analyze and own results / KPIs and act with urgency and pace.Always be a responsible steward of the brand, business team members, and stakeholders.

Job Summary
The Engineering Technician 2 assists in maintenance and repair in areas of electrical, structure buildup and teardown, and building maintenance at the applicable CRVA venue.
Essential Job Duties
May assist in leading maintenance and repair projects at applicable CRVA venue.
Works with supervisor to ensure all setup is done to meet client expectations.
Teardown shows and cleans up areas for next scheduled event.
Maintains all equipment in facility that is part of the heating and cooling systems.
Ensures proper light set up prior to all events.
Coordinates with vendors on facility floor to ensure accuracy of detailed floor plans.
Assist other engineering staff with painting, carpentry, dry wall repair, etc.
May perform other duties as required.

Areas of expertise for the Venue Engineering programs may include, but are not limited to the following:
Electrical– Works with electrical system from 480 volts up to 600 volts.
Plumbing Knowledge of commercial fixtures and all accessories.
HVAC (boilers and chillers)
Knowledge of Metasys building automation system
Ice Technician
Carpentry/Painting
