Job Description/Responsibilities
Buffalo Trace Distillery is seeking applicants for ControlsTechnician to join our team in Frankfort, KY, this is a night shift position, with a starting salary of $37.06 per hour. Night shift is 6pm-6am on a rotating 2,2,3 schedule.
Primary responsibilities include (however may not be limited to):
* Skilled performance of all plant electrical duties including PLC & MCC installation and maintenance

Purpose:

ROLE OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of automation leadership, the automation technician supports the daily operation, troubleshooting, and improvement of robotic and automated systems within the injection molding department. This hands-on role involves supporting production uptime, performing mechanical and controls-related tasks, and contributing to equipment performance and continuous improvement efforts.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Install, troubleshoot, and repair robotic systems, sensors, fixtures, pneumatic components, and automation hardware.
Modify and fine-tune robot programs and end-of-arm tooling for part changes and process optimization.
Support setup and adjustment of vision systems and laser measurement equipment.
Evaluate automation and molding operations to improve cycle times, efficiency, and quality.
Assist in diagnosing electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults and support necessary repairs.
Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on automation and plant equipment.
Complete tool and fixture changeovers for robotic cells and end-of-arm tools. Develop new programs as needed to go along with the tool change for pick, place, trim, and palletize operations.
Accurately document all work performed in service reports and CMMS work orders.
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to address automation issues and support improvement initiatives.
Participate in equipment upgrades, data collection improvements, and small-scale automation projects.
Maintain a clean, organized shop while completing daily tasks.
Follow all safety and lockout/tagout procedures during installation and service activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree, diploma, or certificate in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field.
1-3 years of experience supporting industrial automation, robotics, or automated manufacturing equipment.
Working knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting.

Job Description
The Engineering Technician is responsible for optimizing current manufacturing processes, equipment, and practices to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement of WPP facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, support and provide guidance on continuous improvement and facility related capital projects (i.e. process flow, change overs, lean manufacturing, value-stream mapping, new equipment, etc.)
Support in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes and practices.
Anticipate problems by spending time on floor, inspecting lines regularly, learning from plant personnel, tracking and analyzing and correcting process conditions, and supporting productions reporting.
Develop, train, and audit standardized work to support manufacturing practices.
Establish consistent processes using a collaborative approach with manufacturing and engineering personnel.
Professionally develop capital project proposals to be electronically submitted to the executive team.
Initiate day-to-day troubleshooting and long-term problem solving.
Support product development through process concepts, tools and line coverage.
Develop methods to communicate with key stakeholders.
Follow available engineering standards with new equipment designs and upgrades.
Validate and manage feeder and material handling parameters and alarms.
Inspect, track and analyze screws and barrels in accordance with WPP Program.
Review, edit and create work instructions, controlled documentation, energy control documents, etc.
Offer line side and work place transformation solutions.
Research and make recommendations regarding preventative maintenance details & schedule for equipment.
Support and implement Process FMEA program.
Support or lead safety, quality, cost, energy or general risk reduction initiatives.
Collaborates with other facilities across WPP to ensure consistency.
Qualifications
Technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, but relevant equivalent experience may be considered
Experience with project management
5+ years in a manufacturing setting
2+ years of experience in the plastics extrusion/compounding or injection molding industry
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with ability and desire to communicate well in both written and verbal forms.
Must be willing and able to travel to customer sites, vendors, company divisions and trainings as requested, approximately 10%.
Skilled in the use of basic computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, learn and use systems for operations and maintenance.

The Electromechanical will Plan and perform a range of duties to maintain, service, and repair plant machinery, electrical, and facilities, including a normal range of gas and arc welding, flame cutting and fabrication operations.
Duties:
Interpret wiring diagrams, manufacturer's installation or service manuals, blueprints, product drawings, plant layouts, order flow and all commonly used documents in the facility
Install, maintain, and repair equipment and machines as necessary (such as automatic controls and control panels, power or lighting service lines) with necessary fixtures and components to ensure proper operation
Measure, cut, align, thread, and assemble pipe, conduit, PVC (and similar items) for gas, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, and water process systems
Test and inspect fire pumps and associated devices
Determine and trace cause of malfunctioning or improper equipment
Provide effective service repair and maintenance to electrical and mechanical equipment including rolling mills, furnaces, machine tools, and auxiliary equipment
Perform routine maintenance and service duties such as repair and maintain portable power equipment, pumps, compressors, air and hydraulic devices, and other apparatus
Change rolls in all types of rolling mills and record rotation procedure
Perform routine prescribed duties in lubricating plant machinery and equipment
Routinely use a variety of measuring devices including calipers, height gauge, micrometer, chamfer gauge, versa gauge, depth gauge, go/no go gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, protractor, and tape measure
Identify correct tooling needed to produce each component and change out tools as necessary and use standard tools including, but not limited to, deburring tools, power tools and hard tools (regarding preventative maintenance and/or quality issues)
Modify machine speed tooling and cutting style to ensure precision accuracy of parts.
Oversee process, adjust, and catch errors as they happen and correct as necessary.
Operate crane and forklift as needed
Experience:
High School Diploma/GED
Experience with quality measuring devices such as calipers, height gauge, micrometer, chamfer gauge, depth gauge, go/no go gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, protractor, and tape measures is preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Schedules, conducts, and/or witnesses field tests/work to collect data used to evaluate compliance with procedures, codes, standards, and regulations
* Prepares and issues notices of inspection, letters of violation and non-compliance, work orders, and affidavits of release
* Communicates with internal and external customers, contractors, and businesses to discuss projects and answer any questions and/or concerns and attends all applicable meetings as needed
* Serves as a liaison between the division and homebuilders, developers, and contractors. Citizens, and other city departments
* Performs data entry, reporting, file, database, and/or inventory maintenance, and other administrative duties as needed
* Performs related work as assigned
