About this Position
Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering (BAE) is looking for an Instrument Shop Technician for their Research Laboratory. The BAE laboratory is a research support shop whose goal is to provide support to faculty, staff and students on research and development projects in the department and with other groups across the campus. This position also supports mechanical shops on miscellaneous projects that require fabrication and support the mission of the university.
Research support includes but is not limited to: mill/ lathe machine work, welding and sheet fabrication using steel, stainless steel, brass and aluminum. Prototype fabrication using wood and plastic, 3D printing, electronic/ pneumatic integration. Prototype projects are often more detail oriented than production work. Candidates must be proficient in the use of metalworking machines and tools to fabricate new machine components and repair defective components.
Performance of other assigned duties related to operations, maintenance, and renovations to buildings and equipment, such as preventative maintenance, light duty carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and other miscellaneous repairs and maintenance activities are also responsibilities of this position, including responding to urgent work.
Safety is paramount and use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.) is a must. This position regularly stands, bends, stoops, lifts above the shoulders, and requires the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and more than 50 lbs. occasionally.
About the Department: Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering is a unique department shared between two colleges, Ferguson College of Agriculture and the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. The department enhances the production and profitability of agricultural and biological products, and the conservation and management of natural resources through teaching, research, and outreach. We have graduate engineering (PhD, MS) and undergraduate (BS, accredited Biosystems Engineering, BS Agricultural Systems Technology) programs. Required Qualifications
High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
At least 5 years of machine shop experience in machining and/or fabricating machine components.

Job Title: Access ControlTechnician

Key Areas of Responsibility: The Access ControlTechnician position is an integral part of FlyLock Security Solutions - Oklahoma City and is key to the growth of the company. All Access ControlTechnicians must have the ability to work well in a high-paced working environment. The individual must work well as part of the team and independently from the FlyLock owner. The Access ControlTechnician position is a hands-on technical position geared toward an individual who has a technical mindset. Ideal candidates will have locksmithing knowledge and demonstrate the ability to learn new technical methods and techniques.
Requirements/Responsibilities
Minimum of 2 years experience in technical hands-on field experience in security solutions, access control, door hardware, and other skilled trades.
Inspects, installs, and services all basic and complex commercial and residential access and video systems.
Performs advanced, complex troubleshooting and repair functions for commercial and residential access and video systems such as programming; cleaning detectors; testing controls and peripheral devices; mounting, replacing, and testing equipment according to specifications; running cable, etc.
Instructs customers in access and video systems operation by recommending ways to use additional features and capabilities of system installations.
Respond to customer questions and requests.
Recommend corrective services to adjust customer complaints.
Diffuses difficult and complex customer issues.
Builds and maintains working relations with the sales staff.
Defines the scope of add-ons and change orders, seeks customer approval, and writes up paperwork.
Performs site visits with sales consultants for existing or potential clients.
Takes responsibility for the project from first walk-through to final sign-off and hand-offs to service.
Maintains accurate records of all inspections/service calls and troubleshooting as required including documentation and updating paperwork.
Acts as onsite project lead to meet project timelines and goals and oversees lead technicians, technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors.
Other duties as required by management.

How you will do it

Technical Systems Support Services:The Contractor shall perform troubleshooting, tear-down, repair, refurbishment, overhaul, assembly, testing, and installation services for designated equipment at the request of FAALC Product Divisions or Groups. Labor categories required to provide these services may include Electronics Technicians and Engineering Technicians as necessary to meet specific task requirements.
Engineering Technician Services:
The Contractor shall provide engineering technician services to the various FAALC Product Divisions to help assure that electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment meets serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements. These services may include tasks such as: assembling, repairing and refurbishing equipment, components, test fixtures, and prototypes; performing equipment performance analyses and data collection and reporting; and installing equipment and modifications. The Contractor shall complete all tasks in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders, technical instructions, and quality procedures.
Equipment Assembly and Repair:
The Contractor shall assemble and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, and components. Equipment assembly processes may require a combination of design, fabrication, and/or construction functions for items such as power and signal cables, circuit boards, electrical and mechanical components, test fixtures, and engineering prototypes. Equipment repair processes may include functions such as performance analysis, equipment disassembly/assembly, troubleshooting and correction of electrical, electronic, or mechanical malfunctions, parts replacement, painting and composite structures. The Contractor shall complete applicable adjustment, testing, and certification processes on all items assembled or repaired. All process functions shall be performed and documented as specified in the technical documentation applicable to the system/subsystem/component.
Equipment Performance Analyses and Data Collection:
The Contractor shall perform equipment and component performance analyses to determine operating characteristics and parameters, to aid in fault isolation and identification, and to verify equipment functions under variable conditions. The Contractor shall collect and record appropriate engineering data to document results of the analyses. The Contractor shall also extract, produce, compile, and present a variety of systems data and logistics support information obtained from various sources.
Equipment Installation:
The Contractor shall install electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, modifications and engineering prototypes. The Contractor may be required to perform adjustment, test, and certification functions for this equipment.
Responsibilities
NAVAID antenna and component repair and overhaul.
Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting and repair.
Circuit board testing and repair
Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses. Performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting.
Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification.
Installation of equipment and components, and modifications.
Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes.
Structural inspection of towers and tower components at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet.
Maintenance on the inside and outside of tower structures at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet. Labor includes, but not limited to, installation, removal and maintenance of communication antennae, surveillance systems, safety wire, tower guy wire pull-off shackles and tower obstruction lighting systems.
Moderate lifting and carrying (50 lbs.), straight pushing and pulling, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers and both hands required, walking and standing, repeated bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling (use of both legs and arms), operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle, both eyes required with depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors, hearing (aid permitted).
Attend all Training Classes as required to maintain sufficient knowledge of repair procedures for all systems including all Safety related courses.
Support Preventive Maintenance, (PM's) on FAA and interagency systems, in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
Support Corrective Maintenance, (CM's) on FAA and interagency systems in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
Perform basic troubleshooting of electronic/electro-mechanical systems to include fault isolation, removal, and replacement of failed Line Replaceable Units, (LRU's) required to return the system to full operational capability. Training, procedures, or guidance will be provided.
Prepare FAA and interagency assets for shipment to and from field site, vendor locations and/or Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center, (FAALC).
Enters time into Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily to ensure timely billing of hours.
Keeps Crew Leads informed of assigned tasks and status.
Tower Climbing / Work at heights in excess of 50'.
Performing corrosion control and prevention.
Operation of equipment such as boom man lifts and motorized forklifts.
Working from ropes at heights.
Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components on NAS and Inter-Agency systems.
Due to the limitations of fall protection gear, the minimum weight for an applicant is 125lbs, the maximum weight is 290lbs.
Position requires traveling, up to 70%, and may entail emergency call outs for corrective maintenance as required.
Assists crew lead with workload scheduling and planning.
Meets with internal customers and may coordinate with external customers regarding projects.
Assists junior technicians with technical tasks and may be required to provide on the job training.
Assists crew lead in project package reviews and provides feedback to internal customers.

Qualifications
An associate degree in electrical or engineering technology and completion of formal technical training courses is required for level II.
Due to safety and operational requirements mandated by our government customer, all engineering technicians are required to successful complete a physical fitness evaluation, which includes specific weight restrictions of minimum 125lbs and maximum of 290lbs.
Practical experience in an engineering technician support position is required.
