Must be able to read and understand drawings/prints, manuals, and procedures. Basic duties include troubleshoot instrumentation and control system (such as instrument loops, electronic control systems and equipment) to determine operational problems, follow any applicable administrative procedures, perform tests of loops, evaluate data, and recommend actions to take.
Calibrate equipments/devices/components to meet technical and manufacturing specifications.
Repair I&C systems and equipment according to appropriate control procedures to return equipment to service.
Document all system and equipment repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance on I&C systems and equipment.
Perform independent and component verification, which includes review of work requests, flow diagrams and procedures.
Qualification, education, and experience requirements:
5 years working experience in instrumentation and control and electrical maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent or Associate degree or higher in electronics, engineering technology, instrumentation, or related field.
Successful candidate must possess the willingness and ability to complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements which may include but are not limited to; practical and written skills assessments, computer-based-training, medical, psychological, background and substance abuse screening(s).

General Duties or Experience:
Be able to provide semi-professional technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement. The electrical engineer or technician plays a pivotal role in the manufacturing of high temperature furnaces. Designing power supplies based on requirements within the furnace, including various current and voltage ratings, watt calculations, and size restrictions. The diagrams and assemblies will be designed using Solidworks and DraftSight.
The Mellen Company Inc is looking for an electrical engineer or technician for the ongoing development of advanced data acquisition and control technologies. Familiarity with Arduino programming experience is preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties
Design and evaluate electrical systems, products, components to local safety regulations with possible additional designs for UL, CE, CSA, and other regulatory systems on a job by job basis.
Use Solidworks and DraftSight to design power supplies for high temperature electrical resistance furnaces.
Configure and test electrical systems prior to shipment to ensure the product is fully functional before it reaches the end user.
Contribute to the team effort by assisting the mechanical engineers by verifying wiring diagrams and ensuring appropriate wiring and power ratings in the system.
Ability to work independently and with others effectively to create a complete system.
Create clear and concise wiring diagrams, part layouts, and assembly instructions.
Compile bills of materials and purchase requisitions for job specific components
Work with end users, in a limited basis, to answer technical support and setup questions

Prior Solidworks experience

SUBMEPP's mission is to keep assigned Naval ships and submersibles safe, reliable, and affordable through use of its engineered life cycle maintenance and modernization products and services. SUBMEPP performs technical duties and responsibilities to provide and maintain engineered life cycle maintenance products in direct support of the Fleet, shipyards, industrial facilities, and NAVSEA.
General Duties or Experience:
Be able to provide semi-professional technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement. Required to have some practical knowledge of science or engineering. May require a practical knowledge of mathematics or computer science.
This position will assist with the review of Technical Work Documents (TWDs) from current CNO Availabilities to determine whether the maintenance accomplished satisfies the requirements of SUBMEPP Maintenance Standards/Requirements identified in each Availability Work Package (AWP).
