Stopping production when machines are not running effectively, troubleshooting the problem, and find the solutions quickly. Perform necessary checks at start of shift and at each new product change over; document on paperwork, code date, correct label, upper/lower film, etc. Move and install plant machinery and equipment as needed. Perform preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment as scheduled. Ability to give detailed descriptions related to troubleshooting and repair of equipment on a PC based system. Extensive experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, electronic equipment. Ensure product conforms to specifications. Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition. Prevent/minimize rework and/or inedible product. Monitor workflow to maximize machine output efficiencies. Keep accurate records of products produced and materials used. Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities. The overhaul technician performs work in accordance with the engine manufacturer's specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications, while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. In addition, the overhaul technician prepares and completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner. Essential Job Functions * With limited supervision, assists in high quality inspections, servicing, and maintenance of aircraft engines, systems, and components on a variety of aircraft engines using proper hand tools in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner with minimal rework. Orders general parts as needed. * With limited supervision, prepares various documents for record keeping purposes, as required by Company policy and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, engine process sheets, personal training log, etc.). Demonstrates proficiency of Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD) and compliance statements. * With assistance, locates and uses appropriate technical data and follows verbal instructions when accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks. * Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Job Specific Requirements * Licenses/Certificates: Airframe & Powerplant Certificate preferred; Fork Lift qualified; Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; tool inventory per department tool list required * Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; overnight and short notice travel required; on-call 24/7 rotation * Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting * Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments Education and Experience Engine Overhaul Technician I: * High School graduate or equivalent required * Two years engine maintenance experience preferred Engine Overhaul Technician II: * High School graduate or equivalent required * Two years aircraft engine maintenance related experience required Engine Overhaul Technician III: * High School graduate or equivalent required * Five years aircraft engine maintenance related experience required Available Benefits * Moving is expensive and hard work!
