The Senior Boiler Controls Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing and tuning boilers in the field. JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Performs a variety of technical and administrative duties, maintains custody and control of evidence and recovered property from the time received to final disposition of cases, while maintaining integrity and accountability during a fast paced environment. Maintains various paper and computerized records and files. Testifies in court. Prepares auction items for internet auction services (Property Room.com). Requires the ability to apply technical judgement to produce meticulous and consistent results in complex situations and while under pressure. Requires accountability to provide detailed record keeping through various software applications, detailed documentation and specific bar coding. Work can be tedious, requires extreme attention to detail and physically demanding at times. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs three essential job functions on a rotation basis as: Police Property "Check In", Internal/External Customer Service and Property "Pick up", which demands the application of specialized knowledge and ability to make sound judgement; quickly and while under pressure. * Navigates through several computer applications: NICHE Records Management System, Legacy Records Management System, JIMS, NCIC, Full Court, REJIS, PR Scan, III and Integraph. * Applies time management, multi-tasking, quick decisions, consistent conflict resolution and the ability to work under pressure in an intense environment. * Receives, logs, inventories, processes, stores, releases and disposes items of evidence and abandoned or found property which include weapons, narcotics and money; ensures incoming property has proper documentation and packaging. Maintains boiler, gas and turbine control systems. Installs, calibrates, repairs and monitors the boiler combustion control system. Inspects and maintains precipitator high voltage control and precipitator rapper control. Maintains ash removal control system. Makes daily checks on stack emission monitors and data loggers. Installs, calibrates, repairs and maintains turbine and generator protection systems, vibration monitoring protection systems, generator excitation controls and generator metering for gas turbine and steam generating units. Makes routine vibration level data collection of all pumps, motors, compressors and turbines to help predict bearing failure and excessive vibration. Troubleshoots, repairs and calibrates gas turbine for optimum efficiency and performance. Makes performance, efficiency and reliability tests on gas generating turbine units. Collects data for analysis; maintains unit remote monitoring system. Maintains pneumatic combustion control system and other critical temperature, level, flow control systems for coal-fired steam turbine generating units and gas combustion turbine generating units. Minimum Qualifications: Must have Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in electronics or related area and a minimum of three years related experience in combustion control theory and maintenance, including pneumatics, electronics, control systems logic and maintenance of utility or industrial, electronic instrumentation and controls. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must complete NIMS level training within first six months of hire. Maintenance experience with microprocessors and Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including some programming experience preferable. Cleaver Brooks Sales and Service is looking for a Senior Boiler Controls Technician to join our team in Grandview, MO. The Senior Boiler Controls Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing and tuning boilers in the field. This position also requires some mechanical work across a variety of systems such as pumps, valves and piping. Job Location: Grandview, MO Signing Bonus Details ( if applicable) : Qualified Tech candidates with 1-5 years of relevant boiler experience will receive a $2500 signing bonus! ($1500 paid upon hire, and $1000 paid after 90 days) Qualified Techs with +5 years of relevant boiler experience will receive a $5000 signing bonus! ($3000 paid upon hire, $2000 paid after 90 days) Essential functions: Troubleshoot, repair and upgrade Industrial boiler controls sensors and field devices. Identify and repair equipment component deficiencies both mechanical and electrical. Perform boiler start-ups in the field. Conduct boiler planned maintenance. Mechanical work. Other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements: Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Technical school a plus. Experience: 2-3 year's experience with industrial electrical and control systems - required. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to troubleshoot via PLC's. Must be able to read and work from wiring diagrams and schematics. Mechanical and electrical background is a must. Aptitude and desire to learn new skills Travel Requirements: Able to travel overnight up to 40% of the time when needed. Daily local travel to customer sites. Physical Skill & Effort: Requires stooping, climbing, bending, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, working in confined and elevated areas, and prolonged standing. Able to work long hours in a physical role. Working Conditions and Hazards: Work in different plant environments where plant orientation and site-specific safety precautions are required. High heat, dusty, noisy, and confined space environments will be encountered. Safety sensitive position.
