DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs or assists in fabrication, modification, installation and build to print moderate to complex electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
* Ability to lead a team of technicians in the manufacturing of a variety of electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Must be able to keep detailed records of technician day to day activities and accomplishments.
* Works with Planners, Project Managers, Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Assurance daily to assist technicians with their workload.
* Assist in hiring additional technicians to fill positions to keep up with the company's growth.
* Reads and understands process and procedure as it pertains to the job.
* Ability to read and understand moderate to complex documentation such as drawings, schematics, diagrams, wire lists, work instructions, production orders and procedures.
* Identifies discrepancies in assembly processes or documentation and promptly escalates.
* Maintains a neat and organized workspace. Has a clear understanding of the 5S methodology and how to implement it into a daily routine.
* Must understand the importance of maintaining an ESD safe work environment.
* Must be able to solder to IPC JSTD-001 and wire to IPC/WHMA-A-620 class 3 requirements.
* Possesses basic mechanical skills such as use of hand, power, and automated tooling.
* Skilled in pipe fitting and tube bending. Bends/forms tubing to meet Engineering drawings and specifications. Familiar with compression and pipe fittings is a must.
* Uses calibrated tools such as DMM's, calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches and crimpers.
* Ability to operate a sit-down lift truck.
* Some hoisting and rigging experience using gantry, bridge, and jib cranes.
* Cleanroom experience is a plus.
* Opto-Mechanical and laser technician experience a plus.
* Must remain flexible as priorities change to meet company goals and customer demand.
* May be required to travel as needed to support our customers and out of state GA-EMS sites.

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Electrical and Amphibious Technician IV shall support repair and maintenance of surface and shipboard systems.
Electrical Systems Installation and Maintenance
Install, test, and maintain new and existing electrical cables, power and lighting circuits, and distribution systems operating at 4160 VAC, 1000 VDC, 450 VAC, and 115 VAC.
Support ship control, propulsion, and auxiliary systems, including:
Ship Service Diesel Generators (SSDGs) and Main Propulsion Diesel Engines (MPDEs)
Gas/steam turbine generators and exciters
Automatic Bus Transfer (ABT) switches, transformers, switchgear, and load centers
Hybrid Electric Drive Systems (HEDS), Auxiliary Propulsion Motors (APM), and synchronizer controls
Degaussing, cathodic protection, and battery charging systems

The Position

Due to seasonal increases in vector-borne illness throughout San Diego County in the warmer months, seasonal surveillance and control efforts are essential.
This is the entry level class in the Vector ControlTechnician series. Under immediate supervision, Vector ControlTechnician Aides receive direct training to apply pesticides, and acquire on-the-job experience in vector control work leading to certification by the State of California.

Qualifications

Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician with expertise in Navy shipboard diesel engines to support the Naval Special Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWC-PD) in San Diego, CA. The Technician will provide full-time onsite contracted support to NSWCPD.
This position is associated with an upcoming contract that THOR is pursuing, with an expected start in early January 2026. We are conducting preliminary, “contingent” hiring for roles associated with this contract. The work start is dependent upon THOR being awarded this contract.

Three (3) years of experience supporting the US Navy DRS Program. To include experience with the following:
Shipboard Automated Maintenance Manager (SAMM)
Conducting DOCTOR diesel engine performance analyses (DEPA)
Reviewing DOCTOR combustion analysis data and providing technical recommendations to correct out-of-parameter conditions.
Ability to communicate effectively.
