Job Description JOB PURPOSE CNC quality metrologists use a variety of tools like micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), and laser trackers to measure dimensions, geometry, and surface finish of CNC-machined parts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspects, adjusts, and verifies accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to specifications. Recommends changes or modifications. Calibrates gauges and documents results. Monitors and maintains a clean and well-organized gage lab. Delivers all required gages to Operators during set-ups of each process. Sets precision gages at cell for production. Monitors and maintains out of calibration report on a weekly basis. Conducts and manages all calibrations requirements Maintains records of equipment calibration. Create programs on CMM and other lab equipment. Supports and maintains quality calibration procedures to ensure production time is optimized. Work alongside quality to ensure proper gauges are correct in areas of operation. Must have the ability to train other QA and manufacturing personnel in the operation and handling of measuring equipment. Adhere to guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe handling, removal, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials. All other job duties as assigned.
