The nonprofit 501(c)(3) is used to help colleagues when they're in distress due to an emergency. Colleagues can donate to the fund and then the company will award grant money to the people in need.
"The fund doesn't just align with the culture at Convergint. It is the culture at Convergint," said Marshall. "We like to take care of each other at Convergint. Our culture really sells itself. People want to work in an energized company where they're treated well with great career opportunities."

Every year, Convergint celebrates the company anniversary in June with a day of giving back. Every company office is shut down on Convergint Social Responsibility Day. "It's the most celebrated day at Convergint," said Marshall. Every colleague volunteers at a nonprofit instead of working that day. Previous volunteer work included rebuilding a community, redoing a school's playground, fixing up a group home that was home to people with disabilities and taking the time to feed starving children. The company tries to pick different nonprofits every year.
Giving back is really important to the company. It also hosts a program called STEP Up, where top-notch security systems are donated to underserved schools. Just last year, Convergint donated systems to 17 schools that were otherwise unable to afford them. The systems to protect their students and teachers.
