What Does A Converter Supervisor Do At International Paper

* Ensures compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
* Management of the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) program for the facility.
* This will include developing and improving safety systems including communications, training, recognition, safety audits and behavioral based safety practices focusing on the following seven safety leading indicators:
* Project Plan Execution
* Hazard Recognition
* LIFE Potential Identification
* Safe Work Observations
* SWO Employee Engagement
* S Performance
* Safety Leadership Training
* Proactively address safety related issues ensuring immediate attention is given to any injuries in the workplace
* Works with manufacturing leads and operating teams to understand and improve manufacturing systems
* Emphasizes the use of manufacturing reliability tools to improve operational efficiencies
* Ensures compliance with corporate quality systems and provides follow-up on quality issues
* Reduces performance gaps in safety, productivity, efficiency, and other operational elements at the facility.
* Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring to manufacturing leads and employees on the engagement processes
* Active engagement and involvement in related/support functions that impact manufacturing including but not limited to: production planning, scheduling, purchasing, shipping, and inventory management.
* The successful candidate will provide support, direction and leadership to the manufacturing team.
* As such, the ideal candidate will be required to have strong leadership, relationship and influence skills, and the ability to deliver results.
* Competitive candidates will possess a Bachelor of Arts degree (preferred) or have equivalent experience, and have a solid track record of 3 or more years manufacturing experience (paper/corrugated packaging industry preferred
