The Conveyor Mechanic provides technical support for the safe and efficient operation of terminal and logistics equipment with limited supervision. Duties include but are not limited to maintenance and repair of equipment such as conveyors, pumps, and control devices. Troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment and ensures maximum efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Understands process flow and evaluates ways to increase operating efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gathers technical information to perform the job.
- Performs equipment walk around and inspects and adjusts equipment; properly disposes of wastes.
- Understanding of MSHA and OSHA standards and able to follow in accordance with while performing daily functions of the job.
- Able to safely isolate equipment to perform repairs and maintenance, work at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
- Performs equipment repairs, changes out parts, checks the status of equipment availability with site supervisors, and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse.
- Primarily focused on the tasks relating to the predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Tasks include but are not limited to: repair and maintenance of all conveyor machinery and equipment; repair or replacement of motors, gear reducers, couplings, variable frequency drives, pulleys, idlers, brakes, structure, belting, cleaners, take up systems, transfer points, dust control systems, lubrication of, and machine health as needed.
- Understands all equipment in depth from hydraulics, pneumatics, vehicle and machine repairs, with the ability to trouble shoot, analyze, and make quick responsive repairs without guidance.
- Responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Tasks include but are not limited to: repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as compressors, and pumps; repair or replacement of control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, as needed.
- Performs accurate measurements using analog and digital calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and shaft/sheave alignment tools.
- Performs work order repairs.
- Performs light welding and cutting to patch holes in chutes and reduce spillage throughout the system.
- Coordinates and plans down time efficiently to maximize uptime of production.
- Able to set up operator welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment.

Skills & Abilities
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Sufficient education to make appropriate arithmetic equations and complete written documentation and records; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools.
Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair. Must have experience in maintaining and repairing processing equipment and heavy equipment. Strong electronics experience with controls and drives.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required to use maintenance software to track and log maintenance costs. Proficiency with Microsoft word and Excel are required.
Certifications& Licenses
Courses and/or logged hours in the industrial maintenance field are recommended. Knowledge in equipment reliability and preventative maintenance preferred. Prior training and certification in the following areas highly desirable: welding certification, vibration analysis, electrical/mechanical, bearing training, conveyor systems, pumps, fans, screening equipment, and vibrating conveying systems.

Overview:
The Facilities Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the warehouse equipment as well as general facility maintenance. This position is responsible to monitor performance and implement programs to improve operational metrics.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair electric order pickers, electric reach trucks, and propane forklifts
- Ensure all equipment and systems used in the warehouse including conveyor systems, automated storage, and retrieval system (ASRS), and facilities perform optimally to meet the company’s nightly production and shipping goals
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair efficiently all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical equipment and devices used in Material Handling Systems and Facilities
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and systems and update required documentation and repair logs
- Assemble and install equipment, cabinetry, appliances, and furniture
- Repair roofs, ceiling tiles, floors, partitions, windows, doors, plumbing, drywall, and paint
- Maintain parts inventory and order parts as needed
- Attend shop meetings and utilize/maintain personal tools
- Utilize specifications, technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and ladder diagrams as needed to resolve equipment issues
- Ensure a safe working environment adhering to OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and procedures
