The Cardiac Stepdown Unit is staffed by the Registered Nurse (RN) who provides care for a wide variety of patients including heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and stable post interventional cardiology procedure patients. The obstetric unit in Women's & Infants' Services is comprised of 16 LDRP (labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum) rooms and an additional 8 post-partum or general care rooms. We provide Level II Maternal Specialty care and deliver approximately 1,750 babies each year under the care of our OB/GYN physician teams from three local clinics. Our Women's & Infants' team is supported by a full-time W&I Licensed Social Worker, Inpatient and Outpatient Lactation Support Services and a Women's Center Outreach team. The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for care of the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum obstetrical patients and their well newborn infants. The Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability in providing care for patients received in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology. The Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology RN works closely with cardiology, vascular-surgery and interventional radiology physicians. Typical producers include cardiac catheterization, kyphoplasty, leadless pacemaker placement and much more. The RN is responsible for assessing the patient during the procedures and while the patient in under moderate sedation. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards of Conway Regional Medical Center. The Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology RN will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts. SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION: This position is a designated as "Safety Sensitive Position" under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services. Qualifications * Registered Nurse with current active Arkansas License * BSN preferred * If less than one year experience as a Registered Nurse, must obtain a BSN degree within 4 years of hire. * Certification Preferred * Completion of moderate sedation competency per CRMC policy * Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education * Successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) during orientation * Successful completion of Cardiac Dysrhythmia interpretation class within 3 months of employment * Experience in Interventional radiology and/or Cardiac Cath lab preferred * Knowledge of Joint Commission and Arkansas Department of Health requirements preferred * Must be able to take call as assigned Other education and experience may be substituted (if applicable) for the required minimum job qualifications with the approval of the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
