Summary
JOB SUMMARY

Accurately and efficiently prepares portions cooks and presents a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast Lunch Dinner and Special/Catered Events. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares measures ingredients and cooks food in accordance with established recipes production records current applicable federal state and department standards guidelines and regulations to ensure high-quality food and service is provided.Where appropriate reads food order tickets or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.May prepare food and serve customers in a made to order setting including a grill station.May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and may operate a grill station.Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal state and corporate standards guidelines and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided.Prepares foods under supervision of department leadership. Operates and maintains departmental equipment in a safe orderly and efficient manner. Informs supervisor of malfunctioning damaged and/or unsafe equipment.Tastes products as needed to ensure high quality reads menus adheres to production sheets and keeps accurate taste temperature and production records.Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing workstation and equipment.Works in a safe manner to avoid injury to self and others. Reports unsafe conditions accidents and injuries immediately.Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.May receive inventory lift products and supplies and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.Participates in departmental meetings initiatives training programs as required. Minimal Qualifications
Education
* High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred
Experience
* Less than 1 year (minimum of six months) cooking experience in any setting required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
* Verbal and written communication skills basic math skills required.
* Basic computer skills preferred.
* Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
* Ability to maintain a positive attitude.

Overview
The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Portion control, food waste and sanitation are additional areas that the Cook must be aware of while operating in the kitchen.
This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00-$19.00 per hour and is eligible to receive shares of mandatory service charges. Including your share of service charges, your hourly earnings will typically exceed the minimum wage, and you are always guaranteed hourly earnings of at least the minimum wage in accordance with applicable law.

Responsibilities
Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
Receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders.
Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.
Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.
Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations and displays.
Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens.
Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away and floor is swept and mopped at end of shift. The Cook must be checked out before ending the shift by the Floor Supervisor to ensure the concession stand meets cleanliness standards.
Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
