CITC company history timeline

1983

Since its inception in 1983, CITC has grown from a fledgling, grass-roots operation with only three employees to one of the nation’s preeminent culturally responsive social-service organizations serving over 12,000 people annually and employing more than 400 passionate and caring individuals.

1985

In March 1985, CITC held its first class in carpentry with 26 students and 15 students on the waiting list.

1993

She has been part of CITC’s management team since 1993.

2010

In 2010, Halene became the president and CEO of the Construction Industry Training Council of Washington (CITC), a Washington State licensed vocational/trade school that offers ten state-approved construction apprenticeship and craft training programs.

2012

The Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) was signed into law by Governor Deval Patrick on August 6, 2012 as part of a larger economic development bill called An Act Relative to Infrastructure, Enhanced Competitiveness and Economic Growth in the Commonwealth.

2019

CITC was founded in 2019 with strategic partners TNO and Delft University of Technology and is supported by local and regional governments.
