HOW YOU WILL DO IT:
Food Preparation: Prepares food according to recipes and picture-perfect guidelines.

Health and Safety Measures: Ensures HACCP and Health Department standards are followed.
Collaboration and Support: Any other tasks deemed necessary by the Leadership Team.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Minimum 18 years of age.

General knowledge or willingness to learn the use of different restaurant equipment.

SUMMARY
This position performs routine food service work a Part-time Kitchen Aide/Cook. This dual-role position supports daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and meal service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. This role also includes interaction with program participants, including homeless veterans, in a respectful and empathetic manner.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation & Cooking:
Prepares and cooks meals according to recipes and dietary guidelines.

Assists with preparing daily, weekly, or bi-weekly menus for meals as needed.
May assist with food orders and kitchen supplies as requested by Kitchen team.
Kitchen Operations:
Maintains cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
Ensures proper labeling and storage of food; discards expired items appropriately.
Cares for food preparation appliances and equipment.
Receives and stores food deliveries properly.
Assists with residents and/or volunteers supervision in meal clean-up and kitchen chores.
Compliance & Safety:
Complies with Department of Health, V.A., and AGIF-NVOP standards and regulations.
Always follows food safety and sanitation standards.
Completes and maintains accurate records as required by agency policies.
Ensures confidentiality of client information, donors, team members, and the AGIF-NVOP.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with kitchen team, coworkers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
