The main objective of the kitchen staff position is to maintain the tray line area ready for the next meal service in a timely manner. In addition, this position is responsible for replenishing floor stock according to the floor stock forms and dishwashing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the general order and cleanliness of the tray line area. This includes sweeping and mopping.
Follows proper procedures when serving food during mealtimes. Take temperature and taste foods before the tray line starts.
Keep all silverware stocked and ready for mealtimes. Ensure that all plates, bottoms, tops, and trays are ready for the next tray line service.
Refill the service area's refrigerator and get it ready for the next meal service.
Maintains temperature log using T-sticks or recommended thermometer.
Replenish floor stock based on floor stock forms, all items requested should be accounted for, and notify the manager for any items that are out.
Discuss with a manager when there is a discrepancy on the floor stock form.
Maintain refrigerators on the floor clean and free of expired items. Any open containers and expired items should be thrown away.
Follows standardized cleaning, safety, and sanitation procedures. Practices the “clean-as-you-go” philosophy.
Maintains floor and traffic areas by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and spot cleaning. • Follows departmental closing procedures.
Performs daily cleaning assignments.
Be sure every area has clean trashcans in place. Discard all trash and empty cardboard bins.
Cleans and returns all pots, pans, China, flatware, trays, storage containers, other items, utensils, and equipment in a timely manner, following FNS standards and policies. • Sets up and maintains a 3-compartment sink.
Change water as needed and maintain proper levels of chemical additives to properly wash, rinse, and sanitize items.
Check the soap supply and use a test strip to be sure that the correct amount of sanitizing agent is present.
Maintain a clean dish machine and monitor soap and rinse additive supplies. Replenish dishes and dry trays to the counter in a timely manner.
Prepare all food items strictly adhering to Sunny Glen recipes and designated production quantities as written on the “Daily Production Sheet.”
Assist management in any way that is conducive to the successful and efficient operation of the Kitchen.

What You Will Do
Build and optimize massive-scale pretraining datasets of natural language and source code to improve LLM performance.
Design, experiment with, and analyze data ablations, data mix optimization, and synthetic data generation techniques.
Collaborate closely with pre-training, fine-tuning, and product teams to ensure short feedback loops on model quality.
Stay at the forefront of the latest research in dataset design and LLM pretraining, rapidly iterating on experiments to improve quality.
Deploy solutions into high-performance distributed data pipelines running on large GPU clusters.
Ideal Candidate Background
3+ years of industry experience as a research scientist or engineer.
Strong background in machine learning AND engineering.
Proven experience building large-scale pretraining datasets and running experiments such as ablations or mixture modeling.
Prior hands-on involvement in LLM pretraining, including training models from scratch.
Familiarity with distributed systems, data pipelines, and large GPU cluster operations.
Passion for data quality and applied experimentation.
Preferred
Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Strong programming skills, including Python, plus low-level languages such as C/C++, CUDA, or Triton.
Experience with DevOps tooling (Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
Author of published research in ML/LLMs.
Experience generating and working with synthetic data.
Willingness to travel occasionally (e.g., to Europe for team sessions).

The local Hospital Barista/Cashier position receives cash from customers or employees in payment for food items purchased and brews a variety of coffee beverages. This position is based in Kotzebue, AK supporting the Maniilaq Health Center. This position is based in Kotzebue, Alaska working at the Maniilaq Health Center. The rotational schedule will be 3-weeks on & 3-weeks off. Point of hire origins are Anchorage, AK and each village within the NANA Region.
Responsibilities
* Makes change or cashes checks.
* Operates cash register to record price, compile printed list, and display costs.
* Check cafeteria area periodically to make sure all is continually stocked and everything is full/working.
* Continually wipes and cleans dining room and other associated areas.
* Prepares special lists and their prices.
* Observes any problems with the quality or quantity of food being served.
* Assists customers as needed requested with general information, inquires, etc.
* Places cash drawers from the safe into registers.
* Brews a wide variety of specialty coffees, tea, chocolate, using coffee urns or makers, teapots, drink mixers, etc.
* May assist other employees in the food service area to help out as needed.
* Head/Lead Cashier - (In addition to the above)
* Supervises cashiers and may, in some instances, direct other assigned personnel.
* Supervises all phases of cashier transactions, operations, and other general "front end" activities.
* Monitors meal tickets, time sheets, and other materials such as invoices to keep them in line with sound business practices.
* Record cash received and prepares reports of transactions including bank deposits.
* Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies/balances against cash on hand.

Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Must have at least three (3) months of experience with cash handling procedures, cleaning processes, and cleaning procedures.
* Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 90 days of hire.
* Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
* Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

* Barista experience preferred.
