About the Position
The Assistant Cook supports the Head Cook in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals for campers and staff during summer overnight camps. This position typically works two meals per camp day and assumes leadership of the Kitchen Assistants when the Head Cook is not on duty.
Compensation for this position is $122 - $132 per day, with the starting rate dependent on previous employment at GSWW camps.
Camp Season 2026 will run from June 7th through August 18th, with start and end dates determined by position. Overnight camp staff will divide their summer between Camp Robbinswold (located in Lilliwaup, WA) and Camp St. Albans (located in Allyn, WA). They will begin at St. Albans for the first week of training, then transition to Robbinswold for the second week. Staff will work three one-week camper sessions at Robbinswold, take a short break, and then complete three sessions at St. Albans.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Cook 2 guides, supports and actively participates in all aspects of production and service of a variety of foods/cuisines, including cutting meat and seafood, making sauces and/or cooking proteins. During the service phase of the workday, the Cook 2 prepares menu items to customer order and provides direction to the staff who would be involved in assembling foods, plating, grilling and performing the sales transactions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review menus and recipes and consult with Manager on the production goals for the day/week.
Develop prep and order specifications derived from multiple recipes at various stations.

• Successful completion of opening, restocking and closing duties for the barista station with high attention to detail
• Accurately receives orders from our guests via SQUARE POS System for dine in / takeaway
• Works in our takeout environment either checking in guests or checking to-go bags
• Champions the cleanliness and organization of work spaces and our dining room
• Ability to work different positions within the restaurant to support the team
• Positively responds to feedback and participates in training / classes
• 21yr+ required and MAST 12 permit required within 30 days of start date
