What you'll do:
* Preparing the product to be used along with the tags following the companies Tag Collection Procedure.
* Prepare clean, sound, good barrels to be filled with cooked material. Maintains forms, logs, and paperwork associated with work area. Washes and sanitizes equipment as scheduled by the Production Supervisor.
* Perform agtron test on each batch of product to ensure surface color meets specification. Perform moisture analysis on each batch to ensure the moisture is on target.
* Fill barrels to proper weight (weight determined by operator). Knowledge of operating a forklift in a safe manner and working safely around heavy forklift traffic is necessary. You'll be responsible to perform job reclassification in JDE.
* Work closely with shift supervisor and/or lead person to ensure assigned duties are completed.

* Ability to work a diverse range of tasks, from handling filled drums weighing 75 lbs. at a time to safely rolling drums weighing up to 190 lbs. Employees navigate extreme temperatures, loud noises, airborne food particles, and forklift fumes on a regular basis.

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Cook in our community restaurant, you will have the opportunity to connect with and positively impact the lives of our residents daily. Requirements:
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and certificates:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Culinary School is a plus, or the equivalent of education and experience.
Food Handler Card with an understanding of kitchen sanitation and food codes.
Experience, Competencies, and Skills:
At least one (1) year of experience in full-service kitchen surroundings, including following recipes and cooking dishes from scratch.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and knife handling skills.
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and meal modifications for seniors is a plus.
Ability to read and execute a recipe.
Proficiency in preparing a variety of meals, including large-batch cooking.
Creative culinary and prep skills are a plus.

Ensure all food items are rung in prior to preparing orders; but be flexible to verbal instructions being called back (sometimes GSEs or guests get the order wrong from intake - we are all human)
Have pride in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen floors, equipment and counters at all times with the use of company approved cleaning products
Operate large cooking equipment such as grills and deep fryers; must be capable of using knives and slicing equipment with proper PPE
Follow checklists and proven systems to set up, stock and close the kitchen
Learn new recipes and procedures to support marketing promotions
Assist GSEs in managing dining room cleanliness and efficient food delivery, and other duties as assigned by management
Foster and value a safe work environment by following all personal and food safety and security standards
Cook Requirements
No experience necessary - we build better skills! Must successfully complete Smashburger training program
Must be 16 years of age or older
Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time; move, reach, grasp and lift boxes of food/ supplies up to 50 lbs.
Kneel, bend, twist, stoop and smash
Ability to work in high temperatures - it gets hot in the kitchen!
Showing up on time to work variable hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays is an essential function of the job

The LunchMaster is a leading provider of nutritious meals for schools and community programs. We operate a high-volume production and distribution center in Hayward, CA, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and food safety.
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Prep Cook Crew Member to support our culinary operations. This role is essential in ensuring the timely preparation of ingredients and food items used in our daily meal production. The Prep Cook will work closely with the kitchen team to portion, chop, measure, and prepare components for high-volume food service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wash, peel, slice, chop, dice, and mince vegetables and other ingredients using both manual and automated cutting tools.
Prepare sauces, dressings, and marinades according to kitchen recipes and standards.
Portion ingredients into containers for production, storage, or assembly.
Operate food prep equipment, including commercial slicers, food processors, and manual/mechanical cutting devices, following all safety protocols.
Label, date, and store prepared ingredients in compliance with food safety guidelines.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation throughout the shift.
Follow prep sheets and kitchen production schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Assist with kitchen clean-up, trash removal, and equipment sanitization as needed.
Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards as required by HACCP, state, and federal regulations.
Early morning shifts required (start times as early as 5:00 AM)

QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food prep environment preferred.
Knowledge of basic kitchen tools, equipment, and knife handling techniques.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
Must work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to follow recipes and verbal instructions accurately.
Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Must be punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Familiarity with food safety protocols (ServSafe certification a plus)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
A working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written; Spanish is a plus. Must have the ability to interpret written and verbal requests as required. Strong oral and written communication skills coupled with the interpersonal skills are needed to create and maintain a team centered environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this position are typical of those found in a warehouse & food service setting. Some lifting will be required. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. is required.
