Job Description A Deckhand must be a U.S. Citizen who is at least 18 years of age. The Deckhand is an integral part of the safe operation of all our tour boats and the Chicago Water Taxi. They are charged with carrying out those tasks which support the Captain and allow for the vessel to function in its role as a tour boat or water taxi. Deckhands will also be required to work on the docks doing bag screenings, security, and dock maintenance. The deckhand works in an outdoor environment, often exposed to rain and other elements, including slick or wet decks. Responsibilities: * Respond to customer questions in an effective manner. * Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards. * Basic department cleaning upkeep including and not limited to pots, pans, & utensils. * Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products for our customers. * Assist customers with their orders for a variety of deli services. * Ability to work well as part of a team. * May perform other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: * Highly organized with a keen sense of details. * Great listening and communication skills. * Can handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting while handling products or using various equipment. * Ability to shine in a fast-paced environment.
