Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurants is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to support the growth of the business. This position is primarily responsible for timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payrolls for multiple entities. The Payroll Specialist ensures compliance with various state and federal regulations, while maintaining data as required by all governmental agencies. Our restaurant concept has over 65 locations in 12 states, with plans for significant growth. This position will be a part of the Accounting and Finance team and is located at the Restaurant Support Center in Downers Grove, IL. We offer a hybrid work environment with 3 days in office; 2 remote. During payroll processing days (biweekly on Thursday, Friday & Monday), you will be required to work in the office. The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for building Cooper's Hawk's data governance program from the ground up, ensuring data across our systems is accurate, consistent, secure, and aligned to business priorities. Ensure Compliance and Secure Data Usage * Develop and enforce policies around data privacy, classification, and access, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy policies. * Work with IT and legal teams to manage data risk, support audits, and establish clear data handling protocols. Support Strategic Data Initiatives * Provide governance leadership on enterprise projects including personalization, advanced analytics, CRM integration, and loyalty/membership expansion. * Assist in evaluating and implementing governance and cataloging tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation). What You'll Need: Required: * Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. * 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, and enterprise data management. * Proven track record of building or significantly contributing to a data governance program from scratch including data quality framework, metadata management framework and data stewardship model. * Strong experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and data standards. * Knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks.
