GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Set-Up Technician is a hands-on individual, responsible for doing start-ups and change-over of production runs using the most efficient methods. Always seeking and implementing best practices, this position aims to effectively get parts set-up with limited scrap and downtime. The Set-up Technician also assists with troubleshooting and training to ensure team members are meeting the needs of our customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Work with Single Extrusion / Dual Extrusion / Tri Extrusion
* Complete multiple tooling changes during an 8 hr. shift
* Work with die types, such as Streamline die / Flat back die / Button die
* Work with sizing types: Profile Plates in water tank / Vacuum Calibration in Water tank / Air Rack with plates
* Work with Lamination: In-line PSA and HATS
* Work with Cutters: In-line Fly knife cutter / In-line Puller cutter combo / In-line saw / In-line Guillotine Cutter / In-line Rotary Cutter
* Punch parts: In-line
* Laser and Ink jet printing: In-line
* Responsible for responding to Andon board request in a timely manner
* Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Seeks additional value-added activities within the job when an individual's time is not fully utilized
* Communicates regularly with supervisors and support staff
* Participates in Kaizen and corrective action events as required
* Promotes and provides feedback for continual improvement

SKILLS & ABILITIES

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma or GED required
* Previous experience within a manufacturing setting preferred
* Tow motor license required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Requirements:
Individual is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend and crouch to perform job duties. Lifting of no more than 50 lbs. is required.

An Application Engineering Manager at Roush Power Systems focuses on the integration of power systems and powertrains into OEM applications and is responsible for all design activity and the sign-off of the application of our products into the OEM applications. Their duties include hiring and training qualified engineering staff, setting project budgets and timelines for completion and helping their staff to execute the project deliverables. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with other team leaders and departments to ensure program profitability and success. This position is located in Livonia, MI.
As a Engineering Manager, you will:
Lead the effort to establish and implement Engineering Services strategic priorities in alignment with business strategy to drive results to grow the business.
Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel in alignment to business and financial objectives.
Ensure that processes and programs are standard and effective to meet business and customer goals.
Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers.
Participate in the formulation of business goals, objectives, policies, financial projections and customer quoting.
Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
Participate in company presentations and contract negotiations.
Maintains high level expertise in their field or sector.
Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
To be considered an Engineering Manager, you will need:
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Due to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a US Person.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
Minimum of 2 years of management experience.

Master's degree in engineering or MBA.
5 years of experience in a Senior or Lead engineering capacity.
Integrating engines / powertrains into automotive applications, commercial vehicle applications, as well as mobile and stationary off-road equipment.
Performing detailed powertrain packaging studies in OEM applications with customers.
Designing engine harnesses, automotive-style exhaust systems, vehicle fuel systems, and other key powertrain/vehicle areas of interface.
Developing and executing application sign-off procedures for integration of powertrains into customer applications including confirmation of customer vehicle system performance to meet RPS requirements (ex, cooling system, inlet restriction, back pressure, fuel system, etc.).
Coordination of design activities internally, with customers and suppliers including the leading of design reviews.
Use of design robustness and problem solving methods such as FMEAs, DVP, 8-Ds.
Developing system and sub-system requirements, including the decomposition and traceability to component level requirements.
Developing and tracking requirements, validation plans, and test data to ensure the design meets customer objectives.
Design experience with vehicle and/or engine systems using traditional (gasoline, diesel) and alternative fuels (propane, natural gas).
Program or project management experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Monitor all Toolroom activities to ensure that all plant technical requirements are attained.
* Implement a successful work order system for the tool room.
* Ensure that work order systems, and other systems are operating optimally so that performance can be assessed visually.
* Lead initiatives to improve backlog's, improve efficiency and measure performance in the tool room and samples areas.
* Direct engineering activity in the area to ensure plant objectives are met by monitoring the performance of the people, machines, and systems and improving all three as well as maintaining project tracking initiatives and prioritization.
* Control major repairs expenses, toolroom labor, timely project completion, and productivity initiatives.
* Ensure clear communication between the toolroom and the production value streams.

* Ensure department training is up to date and in compliance with current training matrix. Actively participate in succession planning and develop training plan accordingly.
* Monitor and improve the toolroom production systems.
* Promote positive employee and employer relations according to the labor contract, communicate company policies and programs, enforce safety and quality policies, and ensure compliance to all.
* Ability to assist in the risk assessments of new equipment in the tool room.
* Ability to communicate from upper end to floor and work with outside contractors.
* Ability to chart and explore improvements.

POSITION OVERVIEW
