Screen all patients for medical appropriateness of MRI procedure as well as for potential projectiles before entrance into the exam room. Patient assessment form must be completed and validated before patient enters MRI room. • Provide superior customer service to patients and personnel. Must be able to effectively communicate with all customers; display high degree of tact and diplomacy and maintain supportive relationships. • Follows appropriate safety guidelines during operation of MRI equipment. Required Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Training/Certifications/Licensure: Certification as either ARMRIT or CAMRT as a Registered MR Technologist; OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered plus six (6) months supervised experience in MR scanning, OR Associate's/bachelor's degree in allied health field plus other imaging modality certification plus six (6) months supervised MR scanning. An MRI Technician operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to create detailed images of the body's internal structures. Responsibilities include preparing patients for scans, operating equipment, and ensuring patient safety during the process. Apply for specific facility details.

Responsible for creating cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes, using magnetic resonance imaging equipment. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Positions patient on examining table and places specified coil (receiver) such as head coil or knee coil, close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist. 2. Demonstrates use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination. 3. Enters data, such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of magnetic resonance imaging equipment (head or feet first), into computer. 4. Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer. 5. Observes patient through window of control room and on closed circuit TV screen to monitor patient safety and comfort. 6. Views images of areas being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures. 7. Keys in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images. 8. Alerts staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required: 1. The hours are that would be needed for an 8 hour shift would be between 6:30 am to 11:00 pm and flexibility in the schedule is needed. MRI Technologist - Flexible Schedule, Part Time (24 Hours/Week) Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for New Hires and Rehires who meet eligibility requirements The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. Registered as American Registry of Radiology Technologist for MRI. Advanced certification from ARRT required within 18 months of passing initial registry or date of training completion. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist or MRI school required. EXPERIENCE: 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred. Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. State License expires end of each year and must be renewed annually to work. ARRT expires on incumbent's date of birth and must be renewed to work. WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, potential injury, and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation. QUALIFICATIONS LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: * BLS for Healthcare Providers required * Licensed by the State of NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for technologists and licensed in Radiography. * Registered as American Registry of Radiology Technologist for MRI. * Advanced certification from ARRT required within 18 months of passing initial registry or date of training completion. EDUCATION: * Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist or MRI school required. EXPERIENCE: * 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred. * Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. * State License expires end of each year and must be renewed annually to work. * ARRT expires on incumbent's date of birth and must be renewed to work. WORK ENVIRONMENT Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, potential injury, and hazardous substances, including electromagnetic radiation. Position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time; and require the ability to sit in front of a CRT monitor much of the time. Position requires extensive pushing, pulling and lifting of patients and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Short Description Interviews and screen patients prior to MRI procedures to ensure there are no safety concerns/contraindication. Performs MRI procedures following the protocols established by the Radiologists. Begins studies, transfers images, documents patient history, and completes studies in EPIC / EMR and PACS system Experience Required Canon MRI experience preferred but not necessary. Able to correctly apply MRI compatible monitoring system/IV infusion pump to patients when necessary. Excellent organizational skills and communication skills are needed to effectively orchestrate the daily workflow of patients. Highly developed customer service skills are required. The ability to work well as part of a team.
