Summary:
The Triage RN role is designed to function in a centralized, remote telephonic model that supports the Virtua Medical Group practices by performing initial assessment and advisement for patients seeking care.

Goals include having the right patient receive the right care in the right venue at the right time and optimizing the use of Same Day Appointment slots.

Position Responsibilities:

The Access Triage Nurse Coord coordinates all admission related activities during their assigned shift. Performs triage assessments and assists LIP's with medical clearances. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens along with infectious diseases. Physical demands include but are not limited to consideration stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25-50 lbs. frequently; lifting 50-100 lbs. with assistance occasionally. Essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports directly to department leadership and my supervise incumbents as assigned.

Short Description
The purpose of this role is to give current nursing students (traditionally between junior and senior semesters) the opportunity for real world acute care hospital experience focusing on patient care, service and excellence and assisting the RegisteredNurse with high quality outcomes.
Administers Nursing care under the direction of the Professional RegisteredNurse
Acclimates to the Acute Care Nursing setting
Participates in nursing activities previously learned/demonstrated as part of the nursing school curriculum
Learn the role of professional nursing and the collaboration and integration of technology and the interprofessional team
Education Requirements
Undergraduate Students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (must be entering their Senior year) and completed one full clinical rotation in acute care setting
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.3
License/Certification Requirements
American Heart Association BLS
Special Requirements
Two Letters of Recommendation (Faculty or Professional) required
Ability to work 36 hours per week with no planned time-off
