Train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, or supportive devices. Clean work area and check and store equipment after treatment. Assist patients to dress, undress, or put on and remove supportive devices, such as braces, splints, or slings. Attend or conduct continuing education courses, seminars, or in-service activities. Perform clerical duties, such as taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages, or filling out forms. Prepare treatment areas and electrotherapy equipment for use by physiotherapists. Administer traction to relieve neck or back pain, using intermittent or static traction equipment. Perform postural drainage, percussions, or vibrations or teach deep breathing exercises to treat respiratory conditions. JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Clinical Services is a Registered Nurse (RN) who has graduated from an accredited school of nursing and is currently licensed to practice in the occupying home state where currently practicing. This person supervises home health services to homebound patients in their place of residence in accordance with attending physician orders and plans of care and strives to provide the highest quality of care. As a RN, skilled nursing and other therapeutic services are under the supervision and direction of the Director of Clinical Services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping patients develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. The COTA will work with an Occupational Therapist to provide quality care to individuals of all ages who have physical, mental, developmental, or emotional disabilities. Pay is calculated per visit. Duties & Responsibilities: Supervision of the Occupational Therapy Assistant includes: a licensed Occupational Therapist shall be accessible by telephone to the Occupational Therapy Assistant at all times while the Occupational Therapy Assistant is treating patients. Supervision of the Occupational Therapy Assistant also includes: on-site supervision shall take place every four to six visits.
