POSITION SUMMARY Provide day to day academic and behavior support to assigned students. Provide case management for assigned students and maintain all required special education documents. CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES Academic Instruction Show evidence of pre-planned lessons plans and design lessons in clear, logical, sequential format. Present lessons consistent with the curriculum guide and uses learning activities designed to achieve stated objectives. Provide efficient and smooth transition between activities. Make appropriate use of a variety of instructional materials. Spend very little time on non-learning activities and set a pace for learning that is consistent with each student's functional ability. Lessons are planned to meet each student's goals and objectives listed in the IEP. Exhibit competence in their assigned teaching area. Reports/Forms Maintain attendance reports in required online system. Complete weekly progress reports that indicate regular assessment of student's goals and progress and submit for principal review. Participate in parent teacher conferences. Prepare, administer and maintain student evaluation instruments, such as, student assignments, teacher grade book and report cards in required timeframe. Review, revise, and update IEP's as needed in online program. Submit list of all IEP annual/re-evaluation deadlines to Clinical Supervisor. Develop, complete and implement Curriculum Guide, mapping, and pre/post-test as assigned. Behavioral Management Establish and maintain a positive and effective rapport with all students. Develop classroom management plan and classroom rules are clearly posted in room. Display a calm, neutral manner and tone when managing student behavior. Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills. Implement the C.H.O.I.C.E.S Curriculum and utilize the Five Step Problem Solving Model when addressing student behaviors, concerns and needs. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Work in collaboration with school counselor regarding students' academic and behavior concerns, interpersonal relationships, and coping skills. Collaborate and maintain communication with parents in the best interest of the students regarding behavioral and/or academic concerns. Plan and facilitate classroom team meetings with assigned paraprofessional and counselor. Attend and participate in all staff meetings and in-services. Work cooperatively with colleagues in planning and implementing instructional activities. Share ideas, resources, materials, and methods with other staff members. Work cooperatively with administration to implement school policies and regulations. QUALIFICATIONS LBS1 required or PEL and willing to obtain LBS1. Experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties preferred. Desire to assist students with special needs in a learning environment. The ability to work and interact with all school personnel and students in a cooperative, collaborative and courteous manner. Ability to work under stressful situations. Able to build effective rapport with student population. Must have effective organizational skills, time management, and flexibility to meet staff and students' needs. POSITION SUMMARY Counselor/Social Worker will provide therapeutic intervention and consultation to students and their families, and provide individual, group, family therapy, and crisis intervention for students as needed. Administer standardized testing to students on assigned caseload. Additional Assist with coverage when staff are absent, as determined by the supervisor. Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-services as required. Work cooperatively with colleagues and administration to implement school policies and regulations. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in social work or counseling preferred. Bachelor's degree in social work or counseling required. Must be willing to obtain a master's degree in social work or counseling and become licensed. ISBE school counselor or social work endorsement, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required. Minimum of at least two years of social work/counseling experience preferred. Experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties preferred. This experience should include work with adolescents and families utilizing therapeutic interventions. Positive, empathetic approach and ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students and families. The Occupancy Specialist has direct responsibility for property management functions and related day to day operations of assigned HUD projects and/or assigned LSS owned or managed apartment rental programs. Hour are primarily Monday through Thursday, unless flexed for tenant need, 1st shift. The role is full-time, benefit eligible role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary. Serves as a representative of the agency and the properties/programs to internal and external customers. Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with stakeholders. Assumes primary and direct responsibility for managing tenant and stakeholder issues and concerns related to the property, tenant relations, etc. Works independently and with supervisory staff to address concerns in a consistent and timely manner. With supervisory assistance provides enforcement of lease requirements and project rules. Works as a collaborative team member to support the Business Unit and Continuum of Care model. Ensures complete and compliant tenant files that meet LSS and HUD standards/regulations. Maintains tenant files as assigned. Implements LSS, HUD, and municipal expectations as related to project curb appeal and facility standards. Provides direct services to accomplish these goals; i.e. snow and ice removal, weed pulling, picking up trash, etc. Works with maintenance and supervisory staff to identify areas needing correction. Works within annual budget to meet identified need and makes budgetary recommendations for subsequent budget years. Provides direct building services such as vacuuming, dusting, window washing, bathroom cleaning, etc. Cleans and preps unit turnovers as assigned. Purchases project supplies in accordance with published agency and funder expectations. Works with supervisory staff to ensure compliance with project budget. Prepares for and participates in all facility compliance inspections; i.e. HUD, WHEDA, MMAM, REAC, city, state, etc. Conducts apartment inspections per identified program expectations. Has responsibility for on call/after hour's communications regarding facility and or resident issues. Responds appropriately to all emergency calls within prescribed timelines. Conducts and or arranges for all required facility testing including but not limited to fire extinguisher testing, elevator testing, sprinkler system testing, smoke detector testing and battery replacement, and fire inspections. The Community Event Coordinator will travel to BT5K events nationwide to provide onsite event support, as well as within the designated market areas as needed to meet with local volunteers, constituents, key supporters and ABTA research partners. This role is also responsible for managing BT5K event materials, including maintaining inventory, packing, coordinating shipments, and ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time to 8 BT5K events nationwide. The Community Event Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, cultivating partnerships that promote awareness in the brain tumor community, and directly supporting fundraising and engagement goals that further advance the mission of the ABTA. This is a hybrid position is based in Chicago at the ABTA Headquarters and is required to be in the office 1-2 days per week HOW YOU'LL SERVE OUR ORGANIZATION Events & Volunteer Engagement In partnership with local volunteers, plan, assess and evaluate events that meet the programmatic and quality goals of ABTA, ensuring flawless experiences for event participants, sponsors, vendor partners, community members and volunteers. Coordinate with Volunteer Manager to recruit, train and support community volunteers. Partner with the Director of Corporate Relations and local volunteers to identify, target, and steward corporate partnerships for sponsorship and/or corporate events. Provide guidance and ABTA resources to volunteer planning committees in assigned BT5K markets. Maintain strong internal and external communications with all event participants, volunteers, corporate partners and other constituents. Assist with preparing assigned BT5K events and content delivery strategies and plans that are aligned with ABTA's strategic and financial objectives. Update and maintain event websites and ensure e-mails are properly formatted and distributed to the appropriate audiences. Respond in a prompt and expeditious manner to all voicemail, e-mail, and phone messages from ABTA staff members, volunteers, participants, Board members, vendors, and constituents within 24-hours of receipt. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned. WHAT WE ASK FOR: Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years of related experience in events, nonprofit fundraising and/or sales (including volunteer or personal experience). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. Self-motivated, organized and willing to help with any project large or small. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with varying timelines and deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, participants and other supporters. High degree of creativity, responsibility, initiative, and professionalism. Experience coordinating events and staff /volunteer activities. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed. Skilled in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience using Classy/GoFundMe Pro or similar constituent engagement tools and Salesforce a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Management and Leadership Oversee hiring, training, and performance management for Administrative Operations management team and their customer service (call center), claims, and operations teams Facilitate and oversee the performance management process, including setting department and individual goals, performance reviews, development plans, and corrective action Create a culture and processes to deliver a comprehensive and seamless service experience to all customers measured by satisfaction survey KPIs Oversee education, coaching and training including systems, processes, contract interpretation, and industry issues (e.g., HIPAA, Fraud, Unfair Claim Settlement Practices) Prepare department budgets and operate within budget expectations Process Oversight and Improvement Continually improve the customer experience by evaluating and redesigning systems and business processes to enhance operational efficiency, increase productivity, and drive engagement Support new product opportunities by assessing operational feasibility and identifying and creating workflow process and system requirements Compliance Accountable for compliance with regulatory, legal and contractual requirements, enforcing effective policies and procedures that comply with state and federal insurance regulation Serve as the subject matter expert on insurance company guidelines, including an in-depth understanding and ability to interpret and apply insurance contract provisions to business processes, carrier manuals and procedures, and standard insurance industry business practices Review and respond to escalated issues - complaints to regulators and AMA/AMAI executives Relationship Management Liaise with insurance carrier partners, TPA clients and vendors to ensure AMAI meets administrative obligations Provide support for all internal and external audits Serve as AMAI liaison for interactions with the AMA Facilities Management Department REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree required, in business administration or related field preferred 10+ years of experience heading an insurance operations team in a life and/or health insurance company, large brokerage or third‑party administrator, required Experience must include customer service, underwriting/certificate issue, life/health claims adjudication, contract interpretation and compliance, training and business requirement development; life, disability, Medicare Supplement product experience required Proven success facilitating progressive organizational change and development Utilize a strong mentoring, coaching, and influencing style to engage and lead across all levels of the organization; lead effective training programs to support compliance and customer service Knowledge of customer service and call center processes; insurance administration and claims systems Directly manage relationships with TPA clients, management team of insurance company partners and vendors that support business operations The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago. This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $152,939-$206,519. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
