    Position Summary: The Care Coordination Assistant under general supervision, will follow general procedures to perform a wide variety of clerical duties in support of inpatient care coordination, Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care.

    Minimum Qualifications: One year secretarial or unit assistant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. One-year experience in a medical setting; experience in medical transcription or equivalent training; experience working in a case management setting.

    Education/Licensure/Certifications: College experience preferred, but not required. Training or experience in health care field, familiar with health care terminology. Training or experience with basic secretarial functions/equipment (PC, fax, telephone, copier). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Broad knowledge of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation applications; keyboarding skill level at 45wpm. Preferred for positions in medical/clinical areas: basic medical and scientific terminology. Bilingual preferred. [If fluent in another language, assist in interpreting on a limited basis (phone calls to families to check demo info, brief dc planning on phone, discuss learning needs/expectations).
