Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Rail Systems Coordinator to work onsite in Sacramento, CA or Fresno, CA.
JOB SUMMARY
This role supports the successful delivery of rail systems for the High-Speed Rail Program by coordinating design, construction, integration, and commissioning activities. Working under the direction of the Deputy Program Construction Director, this role facilitates collaboration among design-build teams, project management consultants, and Authority staff to resolve technical issues, manage system interfaces, and ensure project milestones are met. The position plays a key role in overseeing all phases of rail systems implementation while ensuring alignment with program standards, project management best practices, and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, coordinate, and manage the oversight of rail systems delivery across all project phases, ensuring alignment with project management processes
Support timely resolution of rail systems-related issues, including design-build coordination, interface management, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning
Monitor construction and systems schedules; review short-term look-ahead plans to confirm critical milestones are achievable and on track
Support issue resolution related to contracts, third parties, and technical matters
Develop, implement, and improve strategies, policies, procedures, and tools to support effective rail systems oversight and delivery
Ensure consistent application of systems engineering principles and project management best practices
Provide direct support to the Deputy Program Construction Director on special projects, reporting, and ad-hoc assignments related to rail systems oversight and delivery.
Design-build delivery methods for large-scale rail or transportation infrastructure projects
Principles of systems engineering, project management, and construction oversight.
Rail systems disciplines such as train control, traction power, communications, and system integration
Project management tools, scheduling techniques, and risk management practices
Understand the interrelated aspects of rail systems within a complex infrastructure program
Analyze technical documents and data accurately to develop effective solutions and strategies
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and resolve technical, logistical, and contractual issues

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* BA/BS + 6 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, construction management, project management, or a closely related field.
At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in infrastructure project delivery, rail systems engineering, systems integration, or project/construction management.
Experience working on large-scale transportation or rail infrastructure projects
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, or related field), Construction Management, or a related discipline
Experience in rail systems project delivery or oversight
Familiarity with system integration and commissioning of complex rail projects
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to rail systems project

Position Summary
Under the lead work direction of the Assistant Director of Training, Housing Conduct & Care (AD) and/or the Assistant Director of Student Success and Recruitment (AD) and under general supervision of the Associate Director of Residence Education (ADRE), the Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) is responsible for the development of a positive community atmosphere in the assigned living environment conducive to student development and academic success.
The purpose of this work is to assist students in making successful progress toward their degree objectives; to provide learning experiences which supplement those in the classroom; and to assist and encourage students to utilize campus resources and apply the knowledge, skills, and abilities learned during their university careers.
The RHC is responsible for implementing and carrying out the University Housing Services conduct within their assigned community. The RHC will work with the department leads or the ADRE on higher level conduct issues.
The RHC serves as the first responder regarding safety, crisis, and emergency situations in the residential community. The RHC oversees the daily building administration, procedures, and operation of their hall. In addition, this position serves in a variety of capacities working on projects, committees, and tasks.
The RHC has lead responsibility direction of 1-2 residence halls, including providing lead work direction to 6-14 Resident Advisors, 8-15 Desk Attendants, and 1-4 graduate students. The RHC is also responsible for advising Hall Council and performing academic advising.
This is a 12-month live-in position renewable each year based on performance, departmental need, and available funding.
University Housing Services (UHS) is a non-general fund, self-support program with approximately 2,100 on-campus beds, expanding as early as Fall 2025, and housing a mix of first-year through graduate school students with 7 residence halls and 1 dining center; 45 full- time employees, 56 paraprofessional staff, and approximately 150 student staff. UHS includes a First-Year Experience Program and Residential Theme Floors and a full Summer Conference Program.

Anticipated Hiring Range: The initial starting salary for this appointment is not to exceed $5,083 per month.

Conduct outreach and engagement activities to facilitate linkage to the ECM program. Outreach and engagement consist of phone calls, mailed information, presentations and field visits.
Process both internal and external referrals and consistently track and update referral statuses as needed. Prepare regular reports on engagement metrics and outcomes.
Offer services where the client lives, seeks care, or finds most easily accessible, including office-based, telehealth, or field-based services.
Demonstrates professional and effective communication abilities, including the completion of written reports, letters, and plans, initiating verbal communications with team members, clients, families, inter and intra-agency personnel, participating in Treatment Team Meetings, community group presentations and conducting agency-wide presentations and meetings.
Attends and participates in regularly scheduled individual supervision, client-centered group supervision, and ECM and agency-wide staff meetings/training.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:
Performs daily responsibilities to meet the needs of potential donors, donors, donor families, potential donor families, hospital personnel, physicians, and the OPO. Provides rapid on-site response to referrals. Primary responsibilities will occur in the assigned facility where employed. Increased donor activity, staffing shortages, etc. will require assuming responsibilities outside the primary area.

Assesses potential donor families, obtains appropriate authorization for donation, conducts Medical/Social History interview, and assists donor families through identification of potential end of life decisions, attending family meetings and providing donation information as needed. Responsible for medical management of donors prior to recovery activities. Directs the placement of anatomical gifts as necessary. Provides transplant surgeons with information necessary to determine appropriate recipients. Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and perioperative management of the donor when necessary.
Coordinates organ placement/organ allocation with transplant programs and surgeons. Provides information necessary to determine medical suitability of organs for designated recipients in accordance with regulatory guidelines including CMS, UNOS, AOPO and company policy. Coordinates with tissue services, as appropriate, to facilitate tissue recovery.
Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management. Assists in arranging transportation for organ recovery teams. Coordinates surgical recovery/packaging and arranges transportation of organs for transplant and/or research. Possesses a working knowledge of pulsatile preservation. Manages all lab specimens for shipment and delivery to laboratories in accordance with established policies.
Provides support to Hospital Development Coordinator, in the assigned facility, to identify formal and informal leaders, assesses their respective roles, degree of influence and needs. Works collaboratively with these leaders and utilizes their expertise to improve and promote donation. Assists in policy and procedure development. Functions as an expert clinical resource for the hospital regarding organ and tissue donation.
Participates in decision-making programs and committees in the hospital that have an influence on organ donation, promoting donation and seeking opportunities for further collaboration. Facilitates the donation process.
Maintains high visibility by conducting rounds to all critical care units with medical teams and functioning as the designated resource within the hospital for all issues related to organ donation. Provides donor and referral follow-up to appropriate hospital staff one-on-one or by post-recovery conferences.
In partnership with the In-House Donation Specialist (when applicable), develops, provides and evaluates in-house training and in-service educational programs on all aspects of the donation process for hospital staff. Also, collects and reports donation outcome data to various levels of clinical and administrative hospital staff. Documents hospital activities, updates hospital plans, goals, and critical issues in a timely manner on a regular basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL TRAITS: Talks and listens to donor families, hospital personnel, and physicians. Visually assesses donors. Reads charts and documents information. Walks, stands, and sits. Lifts and carries containers up to 70 lbs. Drives to and from donor hospitals. Must be able to stand for more than eight hours a day. Requires the ability to work under stress with numerous interruptions, distractions, and changing priorities. Must have a valid driver's license and ready access to reliable transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: RN/PA or related health care degree or licensure. Or OPO experience commensurate with job requirements.
Experience: Minimum one to two years experience as a Donation Coordinator or Organ Recovery Coordinator.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver license required and ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements. May be required to use privately owned vehicle during the scope of company business.

The RHC serves as the first responder regarding safety, crisis, and emergency situations in the residential community. The RHC oversees the daily building administration, procedures, and operation of their hall. In addition, this position serves in a variety of capacities working on projects, committees, and tasks.
The RHC has lead responsibility direction of 1-2 residence halls, including providing lead work direction to 6-14 Resident Advisors, 8-15 Desk Attendants, and 1-4 graduate students. The RHC is also responsible for advising Hall Council and performing academic advising.
This is a 12-month live-in position renewable each year based on performance, departmental need, and available funding.
University Housing Services (UHS) is a non-general fund, self-support program with approximately 2,100 on-campus beds, expanding as early as Fall 2025, and housing a mix of first-year through graduate school students with 7 residence halls and 1 dining center; 45 full- time employees, 56 paraprofessional staff, and approximately 150 student staff. UHS includes a First-Year Experience Program and Residential Theme Floors and a full Summer Conference Program.

The RHC oversees the daily building administration, procedures, and operation of their hall. In addition, this position serves in a variety of capacities working on projects, committees, and tasks.
The RHC has lead responsibility direction of 1-2 residence halls, including providing lead work direction to 6-14 Resident Advisors, 8-15 Desk Attendants, and 1-4 graduate students. The RHC is also responsible for advising Hall Council and performing academic advising.
This is a 12-month live-in position renewable each year based on performance, departmental need, and available funding.
University Housing Services (UHS) is a non-general fund, self-support program with approximately 2,100 on-campus beds, expanding as early as Fall 2025, and housing a mix of first-year through graduate school students with 7 residence halls and 1 dining center; 45 full- time employees, 56 paraprofessional staff, and approximately 150 student staff. UHS includes a First-Year Experience Program and Residential Theme Floors and a full Summer Conference Program.

WHAT IS BIRTH TISSUE DONATION?
Did you know your babys birth tissue could be used to benet someone else? Often, the birth tissue is discarded along with medical waste. But with your donation, this same birth tissue can help dozens of others.
Placenta donation, or birth tissue recovery, is a program of Sierra Donor Services that utilizes the birth tissues remarkable ability to heal. After the babys birth, the birth tissues cellular components and amniotic membrane can be repurposed to create products for wound healing, scar tissue repair, and wound tissue regeneration.
Birth tissue can be used for face and eye injuries, burns, oral surgeries, spine surgeries, diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, bed sores, and a variety of other soft tissue healing.
Below are some of the key accountabilities this position will hold:
Corresponds with hospitals and birthing centers to coordinate onsite birth tissue recovery initiatives. Travels by car to assigned facilities to provide appropriate recovery and education support.
Initiates the donation discussion for placenta donation with new moms prior to delivery. Provides education on how the mother's new baby can be Life's Little Helper!
Coordinates birth tissue donation process by obtaining informed consent, completing the Donor Risk Assessment Interview, and determines suitability.
Acquires donated birth tissue using proper aseptic techniques and personal protective equipment.
Enters timely and accurate medical records in electronic database.
Collaborates and maintains effective communication with nurses, obstetricians, and other medical personnel.
Performs other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE: This position is generally Monday - Friday position - but may require the occasional weekend if a delivery is prescheduled.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
Two years tissue banking or related experience or surgical operating room experience.
AATB Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) and/or EBAA Certified Eye Bank Technician (CEBT), ORT preferred.
LPN or CNA highly desired!
PHYSICAL TRAITS: Sits, stands, walks, and drives. Observes, talks, and listens. Reads, writes, communicates verbally and in writing. Lifts and carries containers, tissues, and supplies (up to 80 lbs.). Handles small and sharp instrumentation. Travels in automobiles to and from hospital and donor recovery locations.
