Chattahoochee Valley Libraries seek energetic, forward-thinking, innovative applicants for the position of Adult Services Coordinator. The successful candidate will have exceptionally strong leadership and communication skills, organizational abilities, and community relations skills.
This manager will oversee the 2nd floor of our main branch, Columbus Public Library, as well as coordinate Adult programming for all Chattahoochee Valley Libraries.
Responsibilities of the Adult Services Coordinator include:
· Supervising, scheduling, training, and evaluating a staff of 9 FTEs, including two Librarians.
· Oversee the Genealogy and Local History Collections and recommend materials for purchase
· Oversee the scheduling of Columbus Public Libraries Meeting Rooms and Study Rooms
· Collaborate with CVL’s Programming Coordinator and Selection Manager on curating dynamic and engaging programs, services, and collections for Adults.
Columbus Public Library is one of Georgia’s 10 most beautiful libraries, and the state’s 2nd largest public library. Columbus has a vibrant community, with attractions for all ages. Located just north of Ft. Benning, home of the National Infantry Museum, National Civil War Naval Museum; and just south of FDR State Park and Callaway Gardens. Bordering Alabama, Columbus sits on the Chattahoochee River, 90 miles southwest of Atlanta. Chattahoochee Valley Libraries serve Muscogee, Marion, Stewart, and Chattahoochee Counties.
The anticipated start date for the position is December 1, 2022.
Qualifications: Master of Library Science or Library and Information Studies
Equivalency: Public Library experience and at least two years in a supervisory capacity and within six months of completion of a MLS or MLIS
Salary: $60,000 / year
