Based in our Sidney, OH location, as a Project Engineer - Centrifugal, you will execute fast-paced, time-sensitive projects while helping build Copeland's subject matter expertise in oil-free centrifugal compression technology. This position will lead and support the development, evaluation, and maturation of our next generation oil-free centrifugal compressors to improve efficiency, cost, and reliability. In addition, you will provide engineering direction and execution of products into full productions in partnership with local and global colleagues. You'll join a collaborative, cross-functional team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. As a Project Engineer, You Will: Demonstrate strong project management ability in the execution of product development and test campaigns. Drive the conception, development, qualification, and launch of new product technologies aligned with key business objectives. Participate in global collaboration and coordination with technical colleagues for NPD initiatives Collaborate with internal and external customers and cross-functional colleagues by communicating technical and project information Guide mechanical testing of newly designed bearings, seals, and rotors on component & product test rigs Define and execute development and testing plans strong focus on risk mitigation, while coordinating resources to ensure timely execution. Champion Lean principles to streamline new product development cycles and accelerate product maturation. Generate technical specifications for rotordynamic design and testing of centrifugal compressors. Prepare and communicate project updates and technical findings to stakeholders. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics with 1 year of relevant industry experience. Project management skills including developing program schedules, aiding team decisions. Ability to develop new technology and strong hands-on skills. Technical problem-solving abilities. Good understanding of GD&T. Ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts using strong engineering knowledge and data-driven decision-making. Ability to work well with others in a team environment and on site support. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Established track record in global collaboration and global product development. Familiarity with compressor testing and root cause analysis such as 8-D. Previous experience developing and integrating products for HVAC/R applications. Prior proven success in cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with Lean methodologies, Lean product development, and passion for continuous improvement. Onsite Work Arrangement: This role is based fully onsite, and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.
