    The Environmental Service Professional will perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain the hospital in a sanitary state. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Cleans and disinfects all environmental surfaces including, but not limited to furniture, bathrooms, fixtures, windows and glass, sill, door frames, chair rails, walls, pictures, vents, ceilings, beds, and medical equipment. Dust mops and wet mops all hallways, stairs, waiting rooms, offices, stairwells, common areas and patient rooms. Runs floor machine as needed. Vacums all rugs. Dust and washes walls. Checks and fills all dispensers, maintains them in working order. Terminal cleans rooms (MRSA, C-diff, TB) wearing proper personal protective equipment. Cleans up blood, vomit, feces, and other bodily fluids using proper procedures and protective gear. Picks up trash, recycle materials, and Bio-Harzard waste including sharps,blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. Handles properly and disposes of according to DOT, state,and hospital policies and procedures. Completes required paperwork. Empties soiled linen from rooms and handles properly. Patrols premises and outer buildings. checks doors, and locks as needed. Maintains Safety/Security Log. Responds to radio or pager calls to clean up trouble spots, restock supplies, and assist as necessary. Responds to codes such as Fire, Facility, or potentially Violent Person, follows procedures for the aforementioned. Provides Safety/ Security to persons at the request of licensed personal. Documents as required. May escort staff or other people from building. Performs other duties as assigned. Completes all required paperwork daily. Qualifications Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Desired: 1 year applicable experience Skills Desired: Ability to make quick decisions under pressure, good communication skills.
