What You Will Do Editors are continuously collaborating with the culinary team, nutrition team, photo team, product operations team, menu planning team, project managers, editors, proofreaders, and production designers. Produce Recipe Content: Collaborate with other Recipe Editors to produce new recipe cards every week and contribute editorial web support across their four brands. Align content to a stringent recipe style for each brand through pre-determined, culinary-approved guidelines. Content Editing & Review: Review recipes at various editorial checkpoints, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy. This includes: Formatting recipe documents to ensure compatibility with DocsFlow. Completing a style edit for a consistent voice and style. Editing recipes for flow and fact-checking instructions for accuracy. Collaborating with the culinary team on necessary culinary- or editorial-driven changes. Reviewing recipe titles, descriptions, ingredient names, and instructions to align with brand-specific tone and style guidelines. Copywriting: Writing recipe cards and web descriptions. Creating recipe titles and subtitles. Quality Control & Deadlines: Meet deadlines across all projects and tasks. Ensure quality control of recipe cards, including photography, ingredients, steps, and requested changes. Team Contribution: Contribute to editorial efforts on specialty projects. Assist with onboarding and training of new team members. Requirements Experience & Education: 2-5 years experience in recipe editing, writing, and content creation. A background in food media is a plus, and a culinary degree is an added bonus. A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a Communications-related field. Culinary Knowledge: A passion for the culinary world, with a vast knowledge of techniques and ingredients. You find yourself reading cookbooks in your spare time and scouring social media for the latest culinary trends. Chromosome 18 is well equipped to offer remote internship opportunities and will provide the necessary support you need for a meaningful internship. THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a Grant Writing & Events Intern to get involved with many different aspects of a small 501(c)(3) non -profit. This will include a full range of activities required to research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources. You will also help us prepare for and run our 2025 Chromosome 18 Annual Family Conference in Niagara Falls. This position will help build the event schedule, assist with registration, input ticket information and code ticket categories, help prepare the silent auction, and finally assist during the conference to help us ensure that everything runs smoothly. This internship is an intensive opportunity to become involved with non -profit grant writing and event management. THE ORGANIZATION Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society is an advocacy organization composed primarily of the parents of individuals with a chromosome 18 abnormality. Our Mission is to help special -needs children and individuals affected by chromosome 18 abnormalities overcome the obstacles they face so they may lead happy, healthy, and productive lives. We fund research, cultivate community, and provide education to affected individuals and their families to improve health equity in the rare disease community and help those affected by chromosome 18 conditions know that they are not alone.
