Janitor Job in Bandon, OR
Performs janitorial services for public areas (lobby, restrooms, exercise room, spa, offices, elevator, hallways, etc) of lodge facilities; ensure the highest standards of sanitation, safety, comfort and aesthetics
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains janitorial carts with cleaning supplies, linen, towels and etc.
Enters and prepares area for cleaning.
Restocks linen supplies in appropriate areas.
Collects soiled linen for laundering from spa and locker rooms.
Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner, broom, and shampoo machine.
Dusts and polishes metal work, furniture and fixtures.
Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors and carpets.
Cleans offices, hallways, restrooms and public areas.
Removes trash from offices and public areas.
Cleans bathrooms, including but not limited to; wipes shower curtain, cleans and sanitizes toilets, cleans sink and fixtures, wipe down mirrors, washes tiles, shower walls and fixtures.
Washes walls, ceilings, and windows, moves and arranges furniture.
Checks areas for damage, burned out light bulbs, dripping faucets, running toilets, etc. Make report for maintenance.
Follows safety policies and procedures.
As needed, washes facility windows and performs scheduled deep cleaning.
As needed, washes, dries and folds laundry.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous hotel/resort experience beneficial preferred
Demonstrate quality interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including evenings/weekends and nights.
Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
Carpet cleaner, vacuum cleaner, commercial washer and dryer.
Must have the ability to:
Read and write (English).
Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers with or without the use of two-way radios.
Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions.
Visually inspect all work areas.
Retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources.
Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time.
Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly.
