A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GEOTECHNICAL / CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING TECHNICIAN
Working under the immediate supervision of a registered professional engineer, you work as a team member alongside site managers, general contractors, and engineers to perform the required inspection or sampling services at various environmentally regulated solid waste landfill construction projects. You monitor general contractor activities, onsite testing, and reporting of earthwork and soil construction as well as geosynthetic baseliner, closure cap, piping, and gas extraction systems. In addition, you actively collect concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing in order to ensure construction standards and specifications are being met.

Under daily supervision, the Scanner is responsible for operating electronic scanning equipment to properly match serial numbers to product to ensure an accurate selection process.
Responsibilities:
Review incoming shipments, compare vendor inventory sheet to product received, and help resolve inaccuracies.
Place identifying labels on appropriate area of bundles.
Verify that each of the bundles pulled match the bundles listed on the pick ticket.
Alert the warehouse team to any discrepancies in the bundles received.
Enter the trailer number into the scanner and ensure that the right bundles are loaded onto the right trailer.
Requirements:
Overtime will be required during the busy season; must be willing to work Saturdays from May - July.
Safe and efficient work is expected.

Under the supervision of the departmental Nursing Director, and the approved Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern is responsible for utilizing the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in order to learn and better prepare for a nursing career. The Extern is responsible for providing culturally sensitive care that is appropriate for the patient's developmental age under direct observation and guidance of the assigned RN. The Extern effectively interacts with patients, family members, and other health team members. The Extern must maintain the standards of professional nursing and follow the guidelines listed in the job description.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
Senior Year Registered Nursing studenT
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Experience:
Must have successfully completed a minimum of one clinical rotation.
Completes CRHS New Hire Orientation and Nursing Orientation prior to clinical area assignment.
Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:
Official or unofficial transcript from a board-approved pre-licensure nursing program as a Senior Registered Nursing Student in good standing.
Current AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
At least 2 professional letters of support/recommendation.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Per Ga. Comp. R. &Regs. R. 410-8-.08 (2)(3)(4): Students, who are not otherwise licensed or certified, shall be employed only as unlicensed nursing personnel. They shall not represent themselves as nursing students nor assume responsibilities within the scope of practice of a registered nurse. Graduates, who are not otherwise licensed or certified, shall be employed only as unlicensed personnel prior to licensure. They shall not assume responsibilities within the scope of practice of a registered nurse. The registered nurse supervising employed unlicensed students and/or graduates prior to licensure is referred to Rules 410-8-.08(2) and 410-8-.08(3) regarding job responsibilities.
Assist the Registered Nurse in any job duties outlined in the unlicensed extern's scope of practice (see Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 410-8-.08).
Collaborate with other members of the patient care team to discuss, evaluate, and monitor the patient.
Effectively and consistently performs delegated nursing skills and treatments, not to exceed the scope of unlicensed nursing personnel, as prescribed by the physician or as indicated by the patient's condition under the supervision and direct observation of the assigned, approved RN.
Alerts the nursing staff and medical staff observe changes in the patient's condition.
Performs associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks relating to attendance, safety, infection control, and performance improvement as part of CRHS's efforts to provide quality care and services.
Presents a professional image to CRHS's nursing co-workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.
Attends professional development programs and clinical refection meetings every 6 weeks.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
