ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures product is delivered on a timely basis, according to assigned route. The overall purpose of the Van Driver position is to transport Center Residents to prearranged physician and/or dialysis appointments and/or to transport Residents on scheduled outings arranged by the Center. Qualifications Qualifications: * Have a valid Texas Drivers License * Pass inquiry from DMV of driving record * Must have no outstanding criminal/civil citations * Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant * Must have a current CPR Training Card * Ability to read, write and speak the English language Essential Functions: * Must successfully complete Competency Training Checklist. * Must always maintain within the vehicle, documents required for operation. This includes but is not limited to ownership information, proof of insurance and required maintenance, gas, and usage logs. * Assure that the vehicles registration, inspection, and insurance are always current. * Maintain and coordinate a weekly usage schedule with the Executive Director and DON. * Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle (exterior and interior) and assure that the vehicle is in good repair and in full compliance with all recommended maintenance as per vehicle operating manual. * Has reviewed Cantex Senior Communities Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it. As a member of USC's Transportation team, the Shuttle Driver will be one of the first, and most regular, faces interacting with our guests! The Shuttle Driver will have the opportunity to safely transport our students, faculty, staff and guests to and from various destinations on and around USC's campus. You will be expected to reflect our high customer service standards with a friendly and helpful demeanor. The Accountabilities: Transports passengers to and from various destinations on and around the university campus utilizing vehicles with passenger capacities ranging from 23-42 passengers. Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle safety inspections. Maintains clean and orderly vehicle. Maintain daily route schedule through adherence to assigned routes and time schedules. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all state and federal commercial drivers' rules and regulations as well as all University policies and procedures. Provides customer service to students, faculty, staff and external customers. Meets customer needs, offers options, resolves problems and follows up with customers. Ensures full customer satisfaction without unnecessarily referring customer to other staff members. Maintains friendly, helpful demeanor. Provides information regarding policies and procedures and programs relating to the transportation area for students, parents, faculty, administrators, staff and outside customers. Notifies appropriate personnel in the event of an emergency. Maintains complete and accurate records of all safety-related incidents.
