What Will You Do?
The Retail Distribution Center (RDC) Operations Manager directs the daily production activities of various warehouse departments. This position will lead and mentor RDC Operations Supervisors to achieve overall performance goals for production, labor, cost, quality and safety. The RDC Operations Manager is accountable for safety, quality and productivity as well as the facility and equipment.
What Do You Need?
4 years of experience in distribution managing a fleet, delivery contractors, 3PL experience and background in logistics, Required
Company-issued industrial vehicle license, or ability to obtain within 30 days, Required

Compensation: Annual Salary $58,000.00 - $70,000.00. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
Profit sharing is available to eligible employees; this discretionary program is dependent on the profitability of the company.

- Lead with a safety mindset that ensures that every US Foods associate remains injury free, always. Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the warehouse.
- Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Discuss associate performance with Sr. WarehouseManagers and create plans to address gaps.
- Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing workforce to ensure efficient workflow.
- Direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates within the warehouse department. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.
- Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. WarehouseManagers. Review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
- Lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on the trucks. Oversee the preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift.
- Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods. Take action through coaching and counseling to correct behaviors.
- On day shift, designate dock locations for inbound carriers. Ensure product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures. Monitor replenishment activity to ensure stock is available for the shipping shift and to minimize the potential for "shorts". Oversee will call.
- Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment.
- Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan. Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control.
- Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
- Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed.
- Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)

- Monitor operational data, including inventory losses, production goals and safety reports. Identify problems, determine causes and recommend changes to the VP of Operations to produce zero-error benchmark on accuracy and customer satisfaction.

- Work with operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in development of an action plan. Analyze the current operations and make recommendations to improve on expense and cost control.
- Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them to the safety manager as appropriate. Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
- Ensure Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed.
- Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)

SUMMARY

Under the direction of a manager, lead a group of associates to complete assigned duties and tasks.
Under the direction of a manager, teach and train a group of associates in safety and have them perform efficiently.
Assign workers to accurately assemble all customers' orders and ship within a specified timeframe.
Assign workers to receive, count, stock, replenish, and manage merchandise.
Coordinates the loading and dispatching of all routes.
Arrange to deliver merchandise to customers and contact sales personnel and/ or customer for any delivery schedule adjustments.
Communicates with inbound and outbound freight companies including common carriers.
Assist in establishing operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposing of merchandise, and keeping accurate warehouse inventory.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience/ Training/ Education: Must have a proven record of effective management. AA degree or equivalent years of distribution management experience. Incumbent must be a strong leader, able to lead a team of supervisors and warehouse workers. Solid and proven hands-on supervisory/management skills are a must along with the interpersonal skills needed to maximize operations; 1 to 2 years of experience in warehousing or in supervising hourly production/warehouse employees and processes. Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack is training and certificate.

The work still can be strenuous, even though mechanical materials-handling equipment is employed to move heavy items. Some Warehouse Supervisors will spend time in the refrigerated (Deli and Freezer) section of the warehouse. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to steel-toed boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (standard 40 hours per week); however, evening, night shift, overtime, and weekend hours are common in some branch offices.

Position Description:
The Warehouse Operator will be responsible for recording data pertaining to receiving, storing, and shipping of grain at grain elevators. The Warehouse Operator will work with the other members of the team to work toward operational goals while maintaining quality and efficiencies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate production equipment; open and close slide gates to start stop flow of grain.
Accurate weighing grain and record in computer system print and sign scale tickets for all unloaded and loaded out grain by truck or rail.
Responsible for accurately taking samples of all unloaded and loaded grain.
Responsible for keeping charts indicating location and contents of storage tanks and bins.
Complete and accurately monitor grades by weighing grain samples and recording results.
Operate production equipment; start conveyors, bucket elevators selects flow pipes, and selects storage tanks to convey grain into storage or for loadout.
Prepare rail car for loading; open/close rail car lids using anti-fall harness (safely exit the rail car height: 15-20 feet).
Operation of a forklift.
Ensures compliance with the FSMS systems, HACCP and appropriate SQF programs at the direction of management.
Maintain all equipment including repair, periodic maintenance, and service. Including documenting in web-based maintenance program.
General housekeeping and upkeep of working area to include; sweeping, shoveling, vacuum, compressed air, and sanitation.
Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed.

High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred not required.
