You will apply your experience in: HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection and fuel systems. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will be coordinating with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers. You will be responsible for the production of mechanical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments. Responsibilities: * Conduct site visit investigations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on findings. * Produce design plans, calculations and reports with limited direction. * Coordinate with subconsultants, provide client interaction support, establish and maintain phase and task level budgets as well as schedule project phases and tasks. * Schedule production staff and lead them through tasks, coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, and change orders. * Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project. Qualifications: * 8+ years of experience with general building mechanical design production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail or restaurants * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required * P.E. License required * AutoCAD and MS Office Required; Revit is a plus Team: You will work with a team of Design Engineers, Professional Engineers and Project Managers. Duties: * Simultaneous work on multiple projects at various stages of development * Work collaboratively with the team to develop concept designs for projects * Programming and space planning * Under Senior Designer supervision, prepare project design and construction documents using Revit * Prepare various documents during the course of the project development including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc. * Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings * Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review * Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence if needed * Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentation or documents * Select and prepare material finish boards/binders * Select and prepare furniture specifications Key Responsibilities: * Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process. * Productively collaborates with others and leads or encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other. * Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Qualifications: * Design degree of a Bachelor level or higher. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from an accredited school, Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from an accredited school, Bachelor of Art in Interior Architecture from an accredited school, Environmental Design * Ability to read redlines and modify Revit models and other documents accurately * Some Proficiency in Revit Architecture and Microsoft Office Suite * Strong problem solving/analysis * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong task-oriented time management * Proactive, team player * Previous design work experience is a plus * 3D rendering software proficiency, such as Enscape and/or Lumion is a plus * Adobe Create Suite proficiency is a plus This position is also required to adhere to Huitt-Zollars' Core Value Competencies. Annual Base Salary Range: $72,000-$78,000 and up depending on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate(s). The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on the success candidate's individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and consideration to participate in our discretionary annual bonus incentive program.
