Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, is a private, undergraduate liberal arts college that offers students an exciting variety of learning opportunities in the classroom, on campus and around the world. Students focus intensely on one class for three and a half weeks, then move on to a new subject through Cornell's One Course at a Time academic structure. You can spend a month creating a stage production, conducting scientific research or learning a new language. Students may also take off-campus and international studies for the same duration. There's no limit to what you can do with your education at Cornell. More than 100 student clubs are available for you to develop leadership skills, showcase talents and explore interests. The campus is full of student life opportunities, including recreational and fitness facilities, multicultural fairs and volunteer projects. More than 14 Greek fraternities and sororities are also available. Academics include a variety of bachelor's degrees and pre-professional programs. Degrees are available in a wide variety of fields, including Archaeology, Classical Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy and more. Pre-professional programs are offered in Architecture, Business, Dentistry, Law and more. Admissions require students to submit a common application with essay, Cornell supplement, secondary school report, official high school transcript, ACT/SAT scores and teacher recommendations. Cornell offers a comprehensive list of scholarships, grants, loans and other financial aid to eligible students who have filed a FAFSA.
