In 1992, Steve Madsen resigned from a church in Dublin, California, and started a Bible Study in his own home.
In 1993, the Lord called Dick Metz and his wife, Jackay, to lead our church.
Cornerstone took root as a couple dozen Chandlerites meeting in an apartment clubhouse in April 1995 to study the Bible.

In December 1996 the church purchased its first property located on South Perimeter Highway.
In April of 2001 God caused the church to sell its property to Hartsfield International Airport for the completion of the 5th runway.
The first service on February 15, 2002 had 800 in attendance, meeting in the building that is now known as the Student Center.
The church hired its first musician in March 2003 when previously it held to the tradition of A Cappella singing only.
In 2004, the church purchased this building and converted it into a 24,000 square feet. facility.
In 2008, Cornerstone launched its Brentwood campus, but with a goal to continue expanding its Livermore campus.
The mission of Cornerstone continued strong in 2010 and the years following.
However, in 2011, the focus shifted to create a network of campuses rather than one large central campus.
In January 2016, Cornerstone launched a Walnut Creek campus by merging with an existing struggling church named Life-Gate.
On 24 March 2018, the new Brentwood campus building is set to open for the church community to use.
2020 was a year for the books in every single way! Whether we've liked it or understood what he was up to, God has been doing a New Thing all year long.
In January 2022, Caleb Crawford transitioned into Senior Pastor to continue leading Cornerstone forward.
