Students read at or above grade level by the end of third grade.
Students demonstrate algebra readiness by the end of 8th grade, positioning them for algebra and advanced math coursework in high school.
Students complete the full A-G course sequence with grades of C or better and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA across those courses, ensuring eligibility for CSU/UC admission and preparation for long-term college success.
What you'll do…

Implement and use data to deepen the impact of Alpha's multi-year strategic plan in order to drive on student performance outcomes.
Foster a college-going culture that inspires students and families to actively engage in their academics and pursue continuous learning.
Lead the creation of a positive, inclusive school culture rooted in Alpha's core values-leadership, relationships, excellence, integrity, and joy.
Build strong relationships with families, the community, and key stakeholders to enhance student success and school initiatives.
Act as the public face of the school in the community - attending community events, board meetings, and student recruitment events as necessary.
Execute All Day-to-Day Leadership Responsibilities
Set ambitious school-wide goals aligned with network priorities and ensure strategic use of time, staff, and resources to meet key objectives. Oversee and align rigorous instructional practices, operational systems, and academic supports to drive student achievement. Monitor and analyze school performance data to drive accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic decision-making.
Ensure that the school operates on budget by meeting student enrollment and attendance targets in service of academics.
Lead high-quality professional development and coaching for Assistant Principals and instructional leaders to strengthen teaching and learning.
Directly manage school leadership team and additional school site team members to meet school-wide expectations
Support Teacher and Staff Development
Train and develop teachers to analyze student data, identify learning gaps, and implement targeted instructional strategies.
Cultivate collaboration within content and grade-level teams to refine and enhance instructional practices based on data-driven insights.
Observe, coach, and support educators in delivering high-quality instruction that prepares students for college success.

A successful Director of Human Resources
The successful Director of Human Resources will work under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), to oversee and manage all HR operations, providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure the effective administration of HR services within the Alpha network. This role focuses on HR strategy development, employee relations and retention planning, compliance, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment in alignment with Alpha's mission, vision, and goals. The Director of Human Resources is expected to maintain a safe, caring, student-centered environment that promotes high standards among students, staff and community stakeholders. Success in this role depends on strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to gain buy-in from people at all levels of the organization. The position works with key leaders in schools and organizational teams to push strategic initiatives, develop and monitor related projects, and assist with implementation in schools.
The Director of Human Resources is expected to:
Oversee HR Operations Management:
Align and improve overall onboarding/offboarding processes, HRIS, benefits administration, training, and total compensation with a goal towards strong retention planning
Oversee all HR compliance requirements, keeping up-to-date on changing labor laws nationally and in California, ensuring alignment with authorizer audits, and ensuring accuracy in Alpha's HR policies and records
Manage and lead one direct HR report for administrative and HR project execution.
Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development support within the HR team and in partnership with the Talent Team.
Lead HR Process Management and Implementation:
Lead the development and implementation of HR initiatives for our four schools and network office. This includes, but is not limited to, performance management processes, benefits and open enrollment, and other critical functions.
Provide direction and leadership for the HR function at Alpha; represent HR perspectives in collaboration with other Alpha teams (Talent, Finance, etc.) to implement effective strategies to support Alpha staff
Ensure HR initiatives promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
Identify training, development and compliance needs and coordinate relevant programs and resources.
Oversee Employee Relations and Engagement:
Promote a positive and harmonious work environment through employee engagement initiatives. This includes overseeing health and safety programs, including workers' compensation and employee wellness initiatives.
Address employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
Foster effective communication channels throughout the organization.
Investigate employee relations issues and recommend effective solutions.

SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL
DEFINITION:
A part-time position under the direction of the credentialed special education staff and/or classroom teacher to perform a variety of tasks which assist the teacher in the performance of their duties; assist in managing and directing student behavior; assist in providing a safe, pleasant, professional and educational atmosphere.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide instruction, under the supervision of credentialed staff, of small groups and individual students in the special education or general education setting.
* Perform instructional related activities such as correcting tests and homework, preparing instructional materials for general and special needs, assisting the teacher in specialized demonstrations.
* Perform generalized activities such as maintaining and organizing student records, organizing classroom materials, preparing student work areas.
* Assist in collection of records and data.
* Monitor and assist students through classroom activities following presentation of instructional materials by the teacher.
* Assist teacher in maintaining classroom management.
* Assist teacher or authorized staff person in the supervision of students for periods of time inside and outside the classroom and during community-based instruction, academic and non-academic setting, e.g., lunchroom, bus ride, music, art, physical education, applied arts, etc.
* Assist with implementation of positive behavior management strategies and interventions in accordance with established guidelines.
* Perform a variety of clerical duties as required.
* Performs duties relating to a student's specific disability, as may be assigned.
* Assist student(s) in a wheelchair, with a walker or on crutches with mobility and structural adaptations (open doors, move desks, identify or move ramps, etc.) and lifting, supporting, loading, pushing, steering, and positioning in wheelchair.
* Assist student(s) with the use of specialized equipment and modification of regular equipment, i.e., communication board, computer use, etc.
* Assist students with special physical needs with personal hygiene requirements (bathroom assistance, diapering, etc.), eating requirements, washing hands, etc., when necessary.
* May need to provide life sustaining procedures (with training) as identified in the assigned student's IEP, 504 plan, or specialized health care plan, and may need to provide specialized health care which includes, but is not limited to, specialized feeding, dispensing medication, tracheotomy, catheterization, tube suctioning, etc.
* Assist in instruction to develop self-help skills, life skills, and ability to do tasks independently.
* Participate in training as required.

A successful Principal in Residence (PIR) aspires to be a principal at Alpha within the next 1-2 years and is excited to work alongside Alpha's TK-8 school leaders to develop the skills and expertise required for the principal role.
