Summary:
Provide manual machinist support of power generation equipment in the Central Repair Shop.
Provide mechanical maintenance support to maintain equipment in an electrical generating power plant; may perform Head Mechanic duties during absence of a Head Mechanic.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.
Knowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situations.
Ability to operate manual lathes to 138” swing, manual boring mills to 17' swing, and large manual horizontal boring machines.
Installs, maintains tests, inspects, and repairs generating station equipment such as boilers, turbines, pumps, condensers, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
Replaces bearings, packing in pumps and valves, shaft seals, sleeves, seats, and other miscellaneous parts used in plant equipment.
Works with apprentice mechanics and skill enhancement employees to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
Employee must arrange own transportation to work location and may be reassigned to another location at the Company's discretion.
Working Conditions:

Power Plant Environment-Work both inside and outside in all temperatures and climate conditions in accordance with Heat Stress procedures.

REPORTS TO: Production Manager - Metals
Job Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Status: Metals
JOB Purpose:
The Machinist position is responsible to manufacture high-quality products while maintaining accurate inventory counts in a safe efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must be proficient running conventional machines (Lathes, mills etc.)
Must be able to read prints, duplicate existing or sample part.
Be self-sufficient and able to complete a wide variety of jobs in a timely manner with individual quality control.
Be a team player, help customers and collaborate with co-workers.
Have the ability to work with tight tolerances.
Have a strong math background.
Must have a valid driver license.
Able to work overtime when necessary.
Welding experience is a bonus.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Other duties as assigned.
KnowLedge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to calculate cutter speeds and feeds.
Ability to read CNC G&M codes.
Ability to read and modify CAD drawings for standard practices and standardization of equipment and parts.
Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Knowledge of English and Metric thread standards.
Knowledge of sliding and press fit standards.
Ability to setup and operate Vertical, Horizontal & Lathe machining centers.
Basic knowledge of metals heat treating.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced shop mathematic skills, including ability to calculate lengths, angles and distances.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of experience.
Mastercam/ESPRIT experience a plus.
Previous practical machine shop or equivalent experience doing close tolerance work from blueprints, sketches, CAD drawings and verbal instructions.
Aircraft experience preferred but not a requirement.

is searching for a hard-working, motivated and dedicated Manual Machinist who is proficient in the programming, setup and operation of vertical milling machines. This is an immediate opening for a multi-talented, top notch
Manual Machinist
with excellent communication skills to work in our Huber Heights, Ohio facility. This position is on 2nd shift.
Shift hours are as follows;
2nd shift Monday-Friday 2:40pm to 11:10pm
Qualifications
Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following areas;
Set up and fabricate complex precision parts to specifications using manual machine tools such as Bridgeport, Lathe, Surface grinders, drill press, boring bars, etc
Ability to set-up and run their own job.
Monitor the machining process, measure parts during fabrication operations and adjust settings and operations to ensure product conformance to all applicable specifications.
Proficient with the use of measurement instruments: micrometers, dial indicators, calipers etc.
Experience and ability to understand and interpret specifications, diagrams and plans
Highly motivated, detail oriented, self-sufficient with a “make it happen” attitude & approach.
Understanding of G-Code programming a plus.
Experience in part inspection, First Piece inspection.
Experience with Anilam, Prototrak or similar controls
Ability to perform programming using Conversational Prototrak Controls
Job shop environment a plus.
