Position Summary
Savko is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead company-wide safety efforts across our construction, materials, and operational activities. Key Responsibilities

Job Summary:
inst ED provides patient-centered, high-quality acute care in place to adults with complex medical needs. The Mobile Health Coordinator warmly greets all callers and completes a thorough and accurate intake for callers requesting a referral for an inst ED visit. In addition, the MHC monitors visit progression to ensure timely service delivery. Finally, the MHC assists the nursing team with non-clinical administrative support and serves as the main point of contact for paramedic partner dispatchers, paramedics, and the inst ED Virtual Medical Control (VMC) team for all non-clinical issues.
Essential Functions:
Answer incoming phone calls in a timely manner using a cloud-based platform.
Collect accurate patient information and document in the inst ED NOW platform and Athena medical record to process an inst ED referral.
Collect, review, and accept written consent from patients, upload consents from paramedics.
Verify patient eligibility using inst ED NOW, Athena, or external payor portals.
Collect payment(s) from patients (e.g., copay, co-insurance).
Assign visits to one of inst ED's ambulance partners based on geography and availability; collaborate with nursing staff to prioritize high acuity patients.
Communicate with the dispatchers from the ambulance partners to facilitate throughput of inst ED visits; convey clinical concerns/questions to the nursing team.
Maintain awareness of all ambulance partner vehicle's status and location.
Call patients if mobile health providers are unable to reach patients with an updated ETA; escalate to the nursing team when patients cannot be reached via phone.
Make recommendations to improve the inst ED NOW platform.
Monitor that VMC providers are checked in and out of inst ED NOW in a timely manner and outreach to them if this does not occur.
Monitor VMC auto-assignments and manually re-assign if needed when a VMC provider is nearing the end of shift and cannot complete a visit.
Complete an end of shift report before logging off at the end of a shift.
Ensure that mobile health providers have completed all documentation by the end of their shift and outreach to the paramedic partner when there is outstanding documentation.

Ensure identified deficiencies and areas for improvement are tracked and trended. Work with project teams and contractors to implement corrective actions. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective measures.
Identify potential safety hazards and assess risks associated with construction activities. Conduct accident hazard analyses (AHAs) and safety assessments to proactively address potential risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate hazards and reduce risks to an acceptable level.
Develop and deliver safety training programs to project teams, contractors, and other personnel. Ensure that all workers receive appropriate safety training, including new-hire orientations and specific training for high-risk activities. Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and educational initiatives.
Lead and conduct thorough investigations of safety incidents, accidents, and near-miss events. Identify root causes and contributing factors and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Prepare and submit incident reports to regulatory agencies as required.
Perform regular safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify deficiencies and areas for improvement, and work with project teams and contractors to implement corrective actions. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective measures.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and local emergency services to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans.
Promote open lines of communication regarding safety matters among project teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve safety-related issues and foster a proactive safety culture. Participate in safety meetings, committees, and industry organizations to stay informed about safety trends and best practices.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 safety regulations, policies, and guidelines is mandatory. Be comfortable with briefing senior officials and conduct summary status briefings no less than quarterly.
Supervisory:
This position may have supervisory responsibilities. If supervisory responsibilities exist, and the individual must mentor subordinate staff.
What You'll Bring:

* Carries out Health and Safety (H&S) systems Quality Control Inspections and Quality Assurance Audits on all activities on site;
* Ensures H&S awareness and compliance with federal and territorial regulations and guidelines by the MCM staff, visitors and all sub-contractors;
* Able to work a 2 week on 2 weeks off rotation, 10hrs a day.
* Manages Site Wide SOP process and reviews and approves sub-contractor's SOPs;
* Coordinates H&S requirements between work package areas and in common site areas;
* Responsible for resolving all issues and liaising with regulators on H&S compliance while keeping Client informed;
* Responsible for reporting on all H&S monitoring and compliance activities;
* Reviews design and tender documents for all work packages prior to their finalization, in support of any Project-specific Health and Safety requirements;
* Reviews sub-contractor Environmental Protection Plans prior to site work beginning for all remediation, construction and C&M activities to ensure they align with the Project Safety,Health and Environmental Plan.
* Should have knowledge and experience (a minimum of 5 years) in managing a team overseeing Health and Safety on construction and/or mine sites. Work experience should include occupational health and safety monitoring, regulatory reporting, coordinating a team, analyzing and interpreting regulatory requirements associated with construction sites and mine sites. Should be a registered as a Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP) under the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (formerly the Association for Canadian Registered Safety Professionals) or an equivalent designation as assessed by Client.
* Update the Project-Specific Occupational Health and Safety Plan and its attachments at least annually and when there is a significant change of activity on site.
* Oversee Health and Safety Officers, who will visit and document site conditions daily, for the duration of the MCM Contract;
* Facilitate site-specific occupational health and safety orientation sessions to all workers and visitors.
* Perform site-specific safety hazard inspections and assessment for activities conducted at the Giant Mine;
* Provide enhanced work-site testing (blood/urine/respiratory) and result interpretation to workers who may be exposed through work activities to hazardous conditions which could cause health impacts (e.g. demolition of contaminated buildings, exposed to dust from contaminated materials, etc.) and create and maintain a workers' health baseline for local workers that choose to participate;
* Existing hazardous material risks are monitored and that the MCM actively seeks out, identifies and reports on new risks associated with previously unidentified hazardous materials;
* Responsible for the safety of property on site and for protection of persons adjacent to site, to the extent that they may be affected by the conduct of work;
What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting execution, compliance, and enhancement of internal and external safety programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in educating and guiding all employees in safe work practices.
Monitoring the day-to-day safety policies and procedures on the plant floor.
Work daily with associates, leads and supervisors to promote safe work practices and safety awareness culture.
Provides guidance and assists with hazard identification, mitigation, documentation, and resolution
Provides input for safety and health considerations and assists in establishing standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Assists the Safety Manager with incident/accident investigations, subsequent documentation, problem solving and implementation of countermeasure(s).
Maintain training records using our LMS program for all associates. Responsible for tracking, scheduling and documenting all safety and operational training for all departments.
Conducts and participates in Safety audits using our EHS program to perform regular safety inspections on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure compliance with safety protocols and proactively identify potential hazards.
Leads by example by exemplifying safety and professionalism on the job site.
Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
Oversee Onboarding Safety training for all new hires using our training platform, covering general workplace safety procedures and policies.
Assist with on-going safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures.
Provide detailed machine-specific safety training for new hires ensuring they understand hazards, safe work practices and emergency procedures related to their assigned equipment.
Deliver refresher and transition training for associates moving to different machines, focusing on the unique safety and operational requirements of the new equipment.
Conduct a formal follow-up assessment of new and transferred associates to evaluate their knowledge and competencies in safety and operational procedures related to their assigned equipment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.

The Coordinator serves as a subject-matter resource for EHS and Training programs, supports Learning Management System (LMS) administration, maintains regulatory training records, assists with audits and inspections, and supports the development and delivery of instructor-led and computer-based training. This role is critical to maintaining OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance while strengthening MPW's safety culture and workforce capability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Training & Development
· Serve as a subject-matter expert in MPW EHS and Training policies, processes, and programs.
· Maintain required certifications and technical expertise to deliver EHS and compliance training.
· Identify training and development needs and develop lesson plans, materials, and assessments using adult learning principles.
· Deliver instructor-led, hands-on, and blended training with a focus on student mastery and field applicability.
· Create or support the development of computer-based training modules, including knowledge checks and assessments.
· Coordinate internal and external training providers and vendors as required.
· Assess and document trainee competency and mastery of required topics.
· Train and support other trainers and subject-matter experts in instructional techniques and content delivery.
Training Administration & Compliance
· Schedule training courses, facilities, instructors, and equipment using the MPW Learning Management System (LMS).
· Accurately enter, maintain, and audit training records, certifications, and accreditations in the LMS within required timeframes.
· Maintain organized and audit-ready training records in digital and paper formats.
· Serve as an alternate LMS administrator, providing basic system administration, troubleshooting, and reporting.
· Support internal and external audits by providing accurate training documentation and compliance records.
· Monitor training completion, compliance gaps, and trends; communicate findings to EHS leadership and operations.
EHS Program Support
· Conduct periodic field audits and site visits to assess training effectiveness and compliance needs.
· Support EHS inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking as needed.
· Assist with EHS reporting, data analysis, and metrics development.
· Serve as a resource to MPW employees and leaders regarding EHS and training requirements.
· Support the development, maintenance, and revision of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
· Coordinate safety meetings, seminars, conferences, and department communications.
Continuous Improvement & Operations
· Continuously evaluate training and EHS processes; recommend and implement improvements for quality and efficiency.
· Maintain training facilities, instructional equipment, and materials in safe, working conditions.
· Manage inventory of training supplies, materials, and records.
· Maintain professional competency through ongoing education, certifications, and field experience.
· Perform other duties as assigned in support of MPW's EHS and Training objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associate or bachelor's degree in safety, Education, Training, EHS, or related field preferred.
· 2-4 years of experience in EHS training, adult education, or safety program coordination.
· Experience developing and delivering instructor-led and online training for diverse learners.
· Field experience in industrial or construction environments is strongly preferred.
· Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations; OSHA 501/511 preferred.
· Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS).
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with e-learning tools (Storyline, Camtasia, etc.) preferred.
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to travel up to ~30% initially, with reduced travel thereafter
