This Corporate Initiatives Officer will:

+ Research, identify, solicit and steward corporate donors, raising awareness and generating funds for designated event support which align with corporate interests and hospital events programs.

+ Manage a prospect pool of companies capable of making substantial gifts. Initiate and manage all activity related to these prospects.

+ Conduct phone calls, face to face visits, Hospital tours, effective solicitations, and related relationship building with corporate prospects to secure sponsorships.

+ Work with corporate contacts to identify and reach top decision makers, develop entrees and make contacts with executives in the position to direct corporate investment decisions, or marketing and community engagement teams to direct marketing or employee engagement dollars.

+ Generate corporate gift revenue consistent with goals and priorities of the Hospital and the Trust.

+ Develop and build effective working relationships with members of senior management, hospital staff and events aligned with the corporate sponsorship objectives.

+ Work with volunteer leadership who have connections and are interested in growing corporate support to identify, cultivate and successfully solicit prospective donor companies.

+ Prepare written communications, including letters, proposals, reports, acknowledgements, briefings and donor correspondence for hospital and volunteer leadership when appropriate.

+ Work in highly collaborative manner within and across Trust teams, particularly with other colleagues on Corporate Philanthropy, Cause Marketing, Events, and Major Gift Teams to coordinate activity and develop strategies to maximize revenue.

+ Manage budget to ensure expenditures are commensurate with potential revenue sources and projects are met; Develop revenue and expense projections; Monitor performance to ensure progress toward planned goals and achievements, tracking activity in CRM database.

To qualify, you must have:

+ BA degree in Business, Marketing or related field plus a minimum of three years of progressive experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, business or nonprofit management.

+ Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written communication skills in relating to management staff and donors.

+ Consistent attention to detail, high level of productivity, solution orientation and ability to provide a high level of responsiveness to both staff and sponsor issues.

+ Strong technical skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to develop proficiency in specific data base management systems.

+ Work requires frequent travel by car.

Job Description:

The Role: Regional Philanthropy Officer

* Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors in the Rochester and Buffalo, NY markets.
* Develop and execute ongoing regional strategy for qualifying donors to ensure retention, growth of donor contributions, as well as recapture from previous donors. Work collaboratively with other departments and fundraising staff to create customized solicitation strategies matching the objectives of the organization and the interests of the donor/prospect.
* Meet personal annual revenue target ($500K) by working with an assigned portfolio of corporate donors and prospects. Implement a program/activity to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at the $5,000 level or higher, with an emphasis on maximizing revenue for the American Red Cross.
* Assist donors in creating meaning in their lives through giving to the American Red Cross.
* This position is a blend of work from home, in-person meetings with donors, and work in the Rochester Office.
* Participate in disaster relief fundraising projects as appropriate.

What you'll need:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
* Minimum five years of sales and/or fundraising experience required.
* Proven experience in developing strategies for donor retention, growth, and recapture and proven success with complex requests is required.
* A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required..
* Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge of office systems: MS Office preferred and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce.com). Ability to work on a team within a collaborative environment and ensure the highest customer service orientation.
* Travel: Frequent travel within the Region required.
